Great day and dont think ive ever seen so many elise/exiges :shock: :)....you guys were brave in those conditions and suprised not to see more spinners, some good driving :)....i struggled in the wet on these hankooks but had good fun drifting around my first wet trackday in this Evo. Shame i didnt ...

Trying to get booked on this as im up there in afternoon for some mini brake pad testing, hopefully see some of you guys up there :D....i will be in my white Evo5rs with Carbotech stickers on doors, come and chat if you want to talk brake pads :D Wouldnt mind grabbing a few pax laps in one of these ...

From memory, they are pretty tight at original spec. Certainly, you can have issues getting some of the thicker pads (EBC for instance) and new discs in at the same time - can bind slightly. Ah right no problems thats ok then, was just concerned that we are grinding off friction material that could...

Brake pad max thickness ?

Just wondering if you can get thicker than stock pads into the Elise calipers ?.... can anyone have a measure up to see what the clearances with pads out and pistons fully retracted are so we can see if we can increase over book spec thickness to make longer lifespan etc ? BigD has on his Evo. IIRC XP8 are equivalent of Pagid RS4-2 and XP10 equivalent to RS12 operating temps, was tempted to try them myself a while back but the price wasn't much different to the Pagids and so being a cheapskate I was unwilling to be the guinee pig. Just fit something maybe more suitable to the hard use like Carbotech XP8 :) while ive seen the XP8 pads show some slight surface cracking after hard use ive not seen any performance drop off even when down to rivets, last week i was changing a customers XP10 from a Time attack Evo as they were down...
