did this 2 years back...flew to Frankfurt ex Edinburgh...dirt cheap....and managed to hire a CLK for the cost of a Focus via carhire2000.com, also blagged the meridian (in Frankfurt) via Expedia for £45 a night! The drive on the Autobahn was unmissable - about an hour from Hockenheim - much cheaper ...
