Re: Think I'm gonna need legal help against a car dealer!

Good news on the refund front!!! After a couple of letters from a solicitor, and the threat of interest charges + taxi's since September + compensation, finally made them see sense (with dvice from their solicitor given the paperwork I had etc.) and they have offered me a full and final refund of AL...

Re: Electrics in Home & HIP's

All the cabling is twin core + earth grey stuff. I think the place was re-wired before it was replastered but the fusebox bit wasn't upgraded (for some reason). There is still a number of the old wires around but they are not connected to anything, just still in the walls, under the floors etc in so...

Electrics in Home & HIP's

Does anyone know if an old style consumer unit will be flagged up as a problem or fail on the new HIP reports that are required when selling a house these days? By old style I mean the sort that use fuse wire. Certainly not RCB & MCB, 17th Edition etc.

Re: Advice needed, sale of goods act NLC

Your best bet is to talk to the garage. The sale of goods act will come into play, should you need it but you will need to give the garage 3 chances to mend the problems. Your biggest problem could well be the time scale. It's worth persuing, and it is certainly possible to get your money back, depo...

Anyone know a good roofer?

Arghhhhhhhh, my roof is leaking, AGAIN!!!! I had the roof of our house fixed last winter after all those really bad storms but it has started to leak again. It looks to be coming from around the chimney stack so maybe just needs new lead flashing or something. I'd do it myself but I'm not overly ena...

Re: Think I'm gonna need legal help against a car dealer!

A Latest update, for those that are interested. I got a letter this morning, complete with an UNSIGNED cheque for the amount they think they should be giving me ie, £1500 less than agreed. The best bit is that in the covering letter the 'Head of Business' says; 'We are both in agreement that the Par...

A light-hearted moment!

A man in a hot air balloon realized that he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted 'Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am.' The woman below replied, 'You're in a hot air balloon ...

Re: Think I'm gonna need legal help against a car dealer!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys, and thanks to Paolo for filling the gap. Bloody Talktalk have a lot to answer for!!! As Paul rightly said, they took the part ex off me back in May so they could still honour the part ex value that they'd offered me on the previous car I ordered, that...

Re: Think I'm gonna need legal help against a car dealer!

However, I wonder if they have shown you the part ex price as an inflated price which actually included 1500 off the price of the Audi S3. I imagine you have some paper work showing the breakdown of the deal, and therefore they should have shown you the price offered to you in May of your part-ex? ...

Think I'm gonna need legal help against a car dealer!

Are there any legal minds out there that can help me get my money back from Ayr Audi now that Iv'e cancelled my order for an S3? In brief, I had to reluctantly hand over my part ex in May to guarantee it's value against an order for an S3 but the garage still can't tell me when it'll be ready (shoul...
