Also through the bulkhead behind the seats and heat is also drawn forward if you have the roof off.

I wouldn't mess with it but it might be worth checking that the levers / cables are correctly operating the diverter flaps.

Did the AA man get it to start?
Pretty much the same plug but different brand. The Dizzy cap is standard rover. If you are getting a cap, get a new rotor arm too.
Have you checked the plug holes in the head are not full of water?

I have a few bits. It might also be worth updating the "shared bits" thread I started many moons ago.
My idea was as much for a source of bits to tide you over and keep you on the road while you sourced some as anything else.
