I have a few bits. It might also be worth updating the "shared bits" thread I started many moons ago.
My idea was as much for a source of bits to tide you over and keep you on the road while you sourced some as anything else.

That's what happens.
The ball seizes and the metal fatigues. It's worth reaching underneath and giving the bar a twist regularly.

They are specials, but you are better off changing them for standard rose joints.
It's not nice when they go on you!

I think blasting following by zinc plating and then chromate passivation (“yellow”/“gold” or “olive” - I think olive looks cool) is considered best route.
