Alpina Roadster S Lux - For Sale

Granted it's not an Elise, but it is still a cracking all-round car. Our first kid is on the way shortly and it's time to replace the sports car with a family car :( (at least for now!). If anyone is interested, the more details (and pics) are available here: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/98000...

Re: Anyone owned a Z4 on here?

Depends how much you are looking to spend, but if the Z4 is what you are looking for, why not consider Alpina's take on it? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/776287.htm I bought one 6 months ago and love it. It isn't a Vx or Elise, but it is a really nice car. More powerful than the 3.0L, it has a ha...

Re: Another "what should I buy?" thread (NLC)

What about one of these? http://pistonheads.com/sales/664429.htm I've just bought one and absolutely love it. SLightly down on power vs Z4 M's, (300-320bhp), but the engine is more torquey, it can return high 30's mpg on a good run, it doesn't fall into the high tax banding of the M cars (tax is onl...

Re: The VX Replacement

Nice, had a look about on pistonheads at the alpinas and seen very few Z4's. Only thing I would change about it is the indicator lenses all round to the face lift model clear/smoked, don't know how easy that would be ??? Drove my mates which was a 2.2 auto :thumbsdown pretty boring, somehow I think...

The VX Replacement

It's been a great 3 year ownership period with the VX220, but the time came to move on to something new (partly to keep the wife happy as her daily commute in the VX wasn't being well received!). So I collect my new Alpina Roadster S on Saturday which I'm really looking forward to. For those that ha...

Door Entry System at the Flat

Hi guys, I've got a wee problem with the door entry system at our flat. It wasn't working at all when I first moved in and have since arranged for someone to come out and fix the buzzer system which now works fine. However, the timer that controls the service access (for the post man) isn't working ...

SLS Post Code

Hi Guys I'm due to take the car to Ali tomorrow for a service and MOT and I have managed to leave the piece of paper that I wrote the address/post code of ALi's premises on. Would someone mind posting them up here or PM'ing them to me?? Also, is there a decent bus service from near by the garage bac...

We went for 2 weeks the summer before last. Spent a week touring down the west and south coasts (doing a few safaris) and then headed into the centre of the country up in the hills and tea plantations. Second week we spent on the beach which was good and pretty much as described above. Also much dev...

Are there still plans afoot to build a tunnel across the Forth ? No, it was too expensive and restrictive (it wouldn't allow the transportation of certain harardous materials). They opted for a cable stayed bridge to replace the existing crossing. Project will cost somewhere between £3-4billion. ht...

Re: Thats my car away to Steve Walker at last

After a long wait my car away to Steve Walker to get fixed . ( Hassles with the insurance approving repairs and not telling me ) . He said I should get it back before Christmas :D Sounds like Elise owners are keeping him busy . He has an S1 in which sounds quite bad and does anybody want to admit t...
