Re: S1 Alternator change
Just was having flick through this: https://elise.bidouille.info/docs/LotusEliseS1-ServiceManual.pdf Page 367 of 624 suggest the battery light is red and will illuminate whilst engine is running indicating battery is not charging which may be broken alternator belt or electrical fault. Must be diffe...

Re: S1 Alternator change
What model of S1 do you have? There were models with misfire detection units installed and one of the lights would flash yellow and force into limp if it detected misfires. The other culprits were coil packs, leads etc that could set it off so may be worth exploring if it is alternator or other fact...

Re: Keeping it in the family
This thread provoked some thought for me. The interest in cycling and having 2 kids means I have had limited use of the Elise, and mind started thinking of alternates to use the money on. I have put it up to see if there is interest, with the thought of contributing the funds to the mortgage, I must...

Re: Cycling
Robin, might just be simple adjustment required. Have a look on YouTube at gear indexing, park tools videos are pretty good and explain well. If you are getting these symptoms worth trying to adjust yourself, it’s normally just a twist of the barrel adjusters slightly possibly caused with cables sla...

Re: Cycling
Yeah I like the idea of another, but I’m all out buying this one so be a bit before I’m investing in new bikes. The S5 is epic. Coming from a 7/8 year old aluminium frame with mechanical groupset, its a world of difference. I’m loving the Di2 electric gears and the disc brakes. The aero frame perfor...

Re: Cycling
Well done Robin, fantastic effort. I think certainly the positives of lockdown is an increase in outdoor activity and exercise. I was out on Saturday and couldn’t cycle for more than a few minutes without passing another cyclist, surely can only be a good thing. I am very addicted, since lockdown st...

I know years ago cycling was pastime enjoyed by many on the forum, I had lots of help buying my roadbike and I used it for a bit then it started gathering dust in the garage. With the lockdown earlier in the year and closure of gyms I dug mine out as means of exercise and really enjoying it. It’s en...

Re: Bluetooth Headphones - Noisy S1 French Frolic Use
They really are the standard pods without the wires, so no better in my opinion. In a strange way I prefer it for gym use, as I'm always paranoid I'm making strange grunting noises on machines as I've heard others grunting away loudly either not giving a fcuk or oblivious with earphones in. The shur...
