Hi guru's I'm looking to bypass the imobiliser\alarm on my 1998 S1 to see if it solves my dash light problems. My S1 has some strange dash lights and want to try your fix. Can you please tell me what/where the "Engine reset button" ..is that the inertia switch? Or something else

I thought I was seeing things when I clocked an S1 in purple and Orange spodges going East bound on the M8 J16 yesterday afternoon. Maybe the car has hay-feaver or something !!

Hi, thanks for all the help. Sorry for not posting ealier as I've been on holiday for a good few weeks and also been monitoring the Elise. Hi Guys, the gremilns returned to my car again. Robin - your analysis/diagnostics is correct.... about the MFRU not curing my problem I done the above of removing the MFRU and tried the ignition, however all the dashboard lights appear dim when the ignition is off (the following are not lit: Battery...

Thanks for the reply. I found the MKRU and removed it after disconnecting the battery. It all looks OK, connected the battery and the lights went out and everything appeared normal. I then reconnected the MKRU, connected the battery and everything looked fine. Started the car, took for a blast and a...

I got CCI insurance for a stupidly cheap price of £295 incl all mods..

Yip, always check with the priest if you can take pictures and use/not use a flash. They will feel more relaxed if they know what is going to happen with picture and also happier (its better than just appearing in the middle of the service with flashes everywhere). Thanks to your guys help, I got to the bottom of the problem. I disconnected the siren, opened it up and found that the backup battery had corroded and melted some of the siren's PCB - checked with meter. Call an Elise break down south and they wanted £50 for the Cobra 5370 siren, Found a brand new ...
