It's been a while... n. I'm not dead, I'm just lurking.

So those that know may well will know that I have made the the mature? obvious decision to put long term family stability ahead of Lotus driving shenanigans. Vicky is still carefully covered and stored securely waiting for the appropriate time to come back to life. I think I am three years away from...

Re: S1 lights LED Headlights and driving lights?

Holy thread revival :) - whats the verdict on the pmnparts lights a year on (albeit a stay at home year)? Having had the elise on the road for the last 3 weeks, finally completing the engine work started back in 2013, on the way back from the mapping session a stone hit the glass light lens and sad...

Re: Netflix Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 3

Was a bit weird, it felt as if it finished two episodes early... lots of stuff missing.

Glad it doesn't come out right after the season finishes. I have already forgotten half of the stuff that was in it.

Got to try ours in real snow, briefly, last week. Impressed.

Already v good in cold temps, and in rain as Victor says.

Use cross climates on the Clubman. Excellent in heavy rain too.

Do the stalling test.
I will as soon as I get home again. Vicky tucked up in the garage while I’m away.

Thanks Robin

Re: Voltage regulator ? Maybe.....

Do you happen to have those funny lights - Xenon or whatever they are - the ones that need a driver module? If so I would be looking there first (if they can be replaced with the original lights and modules removed, that's what I would be doing). I have LED lights which are a plug and play sealed u...

Voltage regulator ? Maybe.....

Has anyone else experienced an indicated 999 degC water temp? The engine at idle would normally sit around 80 degC, it has now developed a WTF is going on here symptom. Engine at idle indicating around 88-94 degC. Temperature indication jumping around erratically. Turn the heater fan on and the indi...

Re: Inlet manifold swop

After a bit of reading I need to change the 'O' rings on the injectors and fuel rail but otherwise it's a bolt on. Does anyone know if I can use standard 'o' rings or are they made of something different so they don't get eaten by the fuel. The last thing I want is a fuel leak over the exhaust. I w...

Re: Inlet manifold swop

This may not be an issue for you but it wiped out an engine on Vicky. Check that the manifold flange face is completely true. Turns out my manifold face had a slight warp on it allowing rain water to leak into the inlet of cylinder no3. Engine hydraulic locked and wiped itself out after I had the ca...

Windscreen Wiper options?

So what is the current thinking regarding which wiper to buy for the Elise?

I remember discussions a few years ago around using a Renault Espies wiper blade.

Has anyone found one that actually works?

Re: Still not done Stelvio

The thing about Stelvio being a destination for Elises was more about it being a torture test for the brakes on the way down in the original development of the car, rather than it being a belting driving road, no? Certainly, the only reasons I'd consider it would be as a destination to a continenta...
