Re: Lightening the Flywheel....

on a road car you might have issues with driveability but for competition use its very important to reduce flywheel and engine mass as much as possible , in lower gears if you reduce flywheel mass by something like 3kgs thats the equivalent of removing 100 kgs of the weight of the car ,this obviousl...

Re: The best track brake pads

Best kept secret in motorsport is the mintex F4 pad compound , very very loud but if you can handle that they never give up, they will wear the discs but no where as bad as performance friction 85 compound and the likes

Re: 340R Colin's Honda Conversion

My experience lies with the F20 engine (s2000) which is a very similar beast, if you are getting a bespoke manifold made ask the guy to replicate hondas dimensions closely, (when i got mine it was 20hp down because of a 'super duper' manifold that actually reduced power !!), mappable Vtec really hel...

Re: Tyre Sizes

you need to buy some aftermarket adjustable dampers ( so you can soften the damping) also fitted with threaded platforms so you can jack the car up slightly ( so the car doesnt bottom out beacause of the soft damping) All of the above will probably destroy any good handling the car had and turn it i...

Re: Tyre Sizes

its begging the question , why did you buy an exige? its really not the car for posing round city centres in , much more at home on open A/B roads or on track
by the sound of it you would be better off with a chelsea tractor for the potholes :thumbsup

Re: 111S dying - help me work out why

Just washed it? sounds like water down the plug lead holes, if the screws holding down the plastic cam cover arent sealed water can seep down, take it all to bits ,plugs out and clean and dry everything then spray with wd40 or another waterdispersant and it should be ok

Re: Tyre Pressures

First thing to do is make sure the pressure gauge is accurate  most are several psi out, thats not an issue if you use the same gauge all the time and just use the numbers/readings as a reference point to go up and down from, test different pressures and find what suits your driving style

Re: Rain + Elise = won't start

you will find the plugs covered in water, take them out , dry everything , if you think you havenbt got all the water out after you have removed the plugs crank the engine without the plugs in , that will get it all out , spray the plug leads/coils liberally with wd 40 and put it back together. When...
