Re: New S1 in the Highlands

Perhaps - I'll see if I can find his details, he might still have the history file (AKA large grubby pile of receipts) Oh and it did have MMCs when I first picked her up but only on the front and after having a 'moment' coming off a wet motorway (front MMCs don't dry out as quick as rear iron) I swa...

Re: New S1 in the Highlands

Indeed :D - still needs a wash though. Had to get a real job which put a dent in the forum time. Dropped off Norlog too. Need to get a bit of a grip and get some niggly bits fixed (like the suspect clutch/gearbox...) and back driving it properly but it is being used at least weekly as a commuter sla...

Re: New S1 in the Highlands

Wow. glad it's still running well :D I do miss it :(
Did you buy it from a chap called Colin in Moffat?

I passed on the history but can give a run down from memory... probably.
Does it still have harnesses?

Re: Remote battery isolator?

Holy old thread - still subscribed to it! I use one of them on the Esprit, but I suspect battery access will be the problem on the 340. It's a pain in the Esprit as I have to open the boot, lock the car with the remote, disconnect the battery and then shut the boot. Regularly do it in the wrong orde...

Re: One year on: Esprit costs

Hmm dunno really, I stopped keeping such a close track on the costs and didn't do many miles last year either... Running cost per mile has been low in reality: wheel bearings and brakes are the only costs aside from servicing but they were just worn out. It needs some ARB bushes too but they are jus...

Re: One year on: Esprit costs

:thumbsup Still here just far too much else going on :( I've had a falling out with the Esprit as it happens as it tried to kill me a few weeks ago. I changed the brake pads and wheel bearings and disturbed the ABS sensors back end of last year but didn't get to drive it much aside form short test r...

Re: brake pipes

No, it's hidden under a bit of the crash structure, you need to cut 25x5mm slots to access them on early cars.

From memory it's a nasty job as the fittings don't spin on the pipe so you have to unscrew/screw the calipers off/onto the hose.
