Re: Could caterham take over the Elise/Exige chassis

Rather that making new EV's this kind of business should be being encouraged to make tedious, commuter, ICE vehicles more environmentally sustainable : https://transition-one.eu/ but look at the range compromise . . . Quite how you're going to fit a reasonable battery into an elise within sensible m...

Re: Tesla Model 3

When I heard there was a Fiat 500 EV thought it might do us a city car. But £20k after govt grants, who they kidding. Youngsters can’t afford that and I think I’d rather have an Abarth 595 for that money and stick with 4 star ⭐️ There is plenty milage left in ICE tech . . . OEM's are being driven i...

Re: Tesla Model 3

On the battery cost Tesla are targeting $100 a kWh the last battery day goes into detail in how they plan on achieving this and the resultant low cost electric car. Yeah, well I'm targetting being a billionaire . . . it'll take time, meanwhile the reality is the reality and the high costs are the h...

Re: Tesla Model 3

EV battery costs are about $230/KWh and falling, they have almost quartered in the last 5 years, of course battery sizes have increased at the same time, one aspect feeds the other. That is a manufacturer cost. The EV drivetrain excluding the battery is significantly cheaper than ICE tech. Onboard e...

Re: Super lap Scotland

MUK tyre regs suggest it may not be as simple as you suggest (as usual with MUK).

Are cars in the road car class allowed to compete with tyres outside of list 1A ?

Re: Cycling

It might be worth looking at RGT as an alternative to Zwift. It doesn’t have the same sort of community as Zwift, but it is free. I use Trainer Road Trainer road is simply pain . . . Zwift is pain with some distraction . . . the cost is so minimal zwift is the winner every time, however it's a 'win...

Re: Cycling

I think my first 5k will be end of next week. Doubt I will do it in 30 mins though 😁. But for me it's not a race, just like to improve a little each time I go out, which is every day at the moment. Like you working from home is a way of life now. I checked my step count one day and it was 300! I us...

Re: Anyone out there?

VW will be the market leader in EV cars soon they have invested heavily in it after there diesel scandal. Unfortunately they cant keep up with demand, there new ID3 car is due out very soon and the Aberdeen car dealer allegedly only has 5 launch cars coming this year. I have an order in but the mod...

Re: Winter tyres. Discuss.

Pffff, endless tyre changing is really just throwing money down the drain . . . for normal cars, fit 4 season tyres and get on with your life . . . only a muppet drives a normal car too hard for 4 season tyres on the public road . . . If y'all lived in Nice, different deal, but y'all don't, you live...

We have a set of Motorola XTNid PMR's with remote mics, they are completely indestructable, 4Km range in the mountains. Change the codes so you don't hear all the plebs if you're in a high usage area (skiing/boarding) . . .

Re: Caterham K or Sigma

You certainly seem to get more performance per pound out a Westfield for sure, the double wishbone suspension is interesting. My fear was/is that the horror stories of build quality issues given they are kit cars was a real concern and that I should try and aim for a factory built Cat. But given It...
