Out with some old timer friends in Angus at the weekend.

Wanted - K-series exhaust
Hi
I'm needing a replacement back box for my K-series 111S. Do you have a spare lurking in your garage/shed/loft/etc, or know of where any are available??
Happy to pay the going rate (whatever that might be...).
Cheers
Tim

Re: My Emira has landed :-)
Hi Mark
Good to see those pics. I'm trying to decide if I'm more envious about the car or your retirement. Either would be nice...
Let me know if you find you're not enjoying the Emira - I'd consider a swap for my old 111S

Re: Jackie Stewart Classic
I went along yesterday - it was a disappointing day. An hour's queue to get in the car park, then another 20mins to buy an entry ticket. And the solid barriers by the sprint track meant you could mostly only see the drivers' helmets. They need to do much better with their organisation, or not bother

Yes, it is. Right up to the point where you want to get somewhere easily and quietly

Cheers Robin. It's so low geared in first that it'd go up absolutely anything. Just very slowly...

Re: New lightweight - but four seater
Thanks for your interest. If I ever get to 45mph, then something's gone wrong - probably involving cliffs! Yes, it's a great challenge to drive, which is what it's all about for me. That, and the sense of relief at the end of every journey which I've (a) not broken down and (b) survived. Re the LEZ,...

New lightweight - but four seater
Sharing a pic of my ‘new’ car. It’s still a lightweight four cylinder, but four seater too this time - so fully family friendly. It’s a 1935 Austin Seven. But with a high compression head so probably makes a massive 12hp. If only the brakes could handle the power… Give us a wave if you see me about...

Re: Short term car hire
Thrifty at Haymarket did me a good deal on something equivalent a couple of years back - got one of their cars for a few weeks on a flexible week-by-week basis. Key benefit was that you could hire without their insurance which made it much cheaper (might be able to sort insurance on your existing po...

Re: Road Trip "Route des grandes alpes"
I'm loving the write up of this - thanks Julien. It's been years since I've been in the Alps in the Elise. Now have the maps out and dreaming of the next one!

Re: Elise - we Salute You
Bought my Elise in 2003. One of the last of the K series. The first and so far only new car I’ve ever bought. As with you all, many memories. Two trips to Spain, several to the Alps, lots of ‘Ring trips (still proud of going enough in 2006 to buy an annual pass), and so many trips to great places in...

Re: Yaris GR Thoughts ?
Hi everyone - long time no see for most of you This Yaris has totally met Toyota's objectives - if it can get people on an Elise forum debating whether they might buy a Toyota then result! Personally...really wishing I could find an opportunity to have a go in one. Actually looks like a proper sport...

Useful thoughts there. And yes many cracking roads in Spain that are yet to be discovered. I'm feeling the sensible hat coming back on!
Cheers

Re: Are track days all you do in your Lotus then?
It's not all track days for me - Elise use this month has totaled one trip to B&Q and two to collect my daughter from guides
Up for road runs if I can get out. Weekday evenings probably easiest for me and good when the days are longer. Borders evening runs used to be good
Cheers
