Re: Insurers who cover SIDC Knockhill

REIS cover Knockhill but they are getting more picky. It's now an add on but still much cheaper than insuring individual days

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

Plus point for discord maybe? Pictures are stored indefinitely and don't need additional hosting.

The images will be deleted though if you link externally, I.e. if you try and use discord as image hosting.

No having to pay for Tapatalk. Free version is so advert heavy.

Re: Cleaner brake pads.

I used 5+ for years on the S1 Elise and S1 Exige. Loved them but yes, you shouldn't put them away wet. And after track you would get a lot of metallic dust as they chewed the admittedly cheap disks up. If you didn't clean it off it was nasty stuff if it then rusted. I had tried Pagids before but the...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

I got a consultant in (my son) to setup Discord properly. Apparently Dad had not done it properly. Updated non expiring link is here https://discord.gg/WgaccXNNW5 If you don't like Discord then Slack isn't much different. I agree it's not really offering anything the forum doesn't do already, althou...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

I agree with much of the above. Discord as it's set up, or as it should be setup, is a forum replacement, it's not a new paradigm. The main loss for me is the loss of threading. . Busy channels in what's app you have to be engaged in or things just pass you by. I find it easy to feel like points and...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

I agree with the keep it simple and maybe discord is forcing a community in the same way phpbb does. What's resistance to using Facebook? I'd be totally happy with that. It has threading, but it's not really searchable medium. This is the issue with some pure social media solutions. They are fleetin...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

I note it's essentially a collection of groups. There's no threading

Size of a WhatsApp Community: A WhatsApp Community can consist of up to 50 groups, with each group accommodating up to 1,024 members

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

Note that we can enable file uploads for small payment. If people think this has legs I'll work out what it be to have picture uploads. It's circa about £10 per month. I feel we'd need to picture posting. If what's app is not restricted and we can have a structure and browse threads then I would ten...

Re: Another new home for Scottish Elises?

I've set the invite to accept 100 uses (max). We can then renew it. But it should allow people to get on and have a look.

Only set this up as a proposal and shared with Campbell, but I do think now that the subject has come up, it's a good fit. And it's free!
