Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

Following this thread with interest (and sadness) so definitely keep the updates going. Also not convinced I'd buy a used car from the dealer in question now... but also not convinced I'll be continuing with my plans for a 350. It may be a relatively rare issue with the clutch, but that's irrelevant...

Re: Tut the Legend

RIP Tut. Hope he's dicking them wherever he is. Owning an Elise has been life-changing and he was a big part of that. Those Tut-Towers events were epic every time. It won't be the same without him but at least he made sure to live life to the full. He'll be remembered for sure! Pic from my 1st ever ...

Re: Heatproof material on the bulkhead

I wouldn’t go near an S2 manifold on the s1. I fitted one when I had the K and it was at that point I started frying alternators ... not to mention the paint damage to the boot lid from the heat too. I know others have had similar problems too. May be a series of coincidences, but any ‘gains’ aren’t...

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

The insurance clause about being garaged after 10 usually has a sub clause about only applying if the car is within a certain distance of your house, like 0.5 miles or something. Disappointing to hear about the lack of updates from Lotus and the dealer though. It’s right to expect and be given bette...

Re: New toy

The narrow power band might not be an issue on fresh out the wrapper cars with clever auto boxes and sequential or equally clever turbo arrangements. However, you don't have to go to old before cars have manual boxes and single old fashioned turbos where the power band restriction is more evident. ...

New toy

My commute is just under 100 miles as a round trip. I’m getting 40mpg in a 300+ bhp 4wd estate with stupid high torque too. Mix of stop start and foot down blasts when the traffic allows on the m8. The noise from the 6 cylinder diesel is actually surprisingly good and the power band is just constant...

Re: New toy

:damnfunny

Never given the ride height a second thought until you posted it and then became strangely curious about trying to fist my wheel arch gap.

:damnfunny :damnfunny

I can confirm the engine is tremendous though :thumbsup

I feel like the X-drives look like you could get a fist in between the front wheel and the arch.

Re: New toy

Comedy ride height?! The 335d is possibly a bit higher than a 330d but it's hardly comedy ride height. https://image.ibb.co/hQk7XU/Screen_Shot_2018_09_26_at_22_13_50.png *edit* photoshopped the shadows out a bit so you can see the wheel arches properly. I definitely wouldn't want it any lower, but I...

Fleet Shakeup - Evora, Honda'd S1, Triumph Bobber...

Hi Folks, Considering a radical shakeup of the fleet so probably going to be putting the Evora, Elise and Bobber up for sale in the coming days, weeks or months. Not definite as such, but a plan is forming. Just an early heads up for the SE mob in case anyone is thinking about adding any or all of t...
