Re: Suspension refresh - sandblasting/treatment?
Ok, it's not the cheapest thing in the world and a lot of this has to do with the cost of running the oven for 2 cures.
Scope
If more people want this done the costs of curing in the oven could be split.
Graeme
Scope
- blast parts
- Zinc Phosphate
- Xylan 4090
- Xylan 1052

Re: Suspension refresh - sandblasting/treatment?
I think blasting following by zinc plating and then chromate passivation (“yellow”/“gold” or “olive” - I think olive looks cool) is considered best route. And then some kind of clear coating (often POR 15) over the top of that. Of course the last step easy to do at home. Like I said it's not my are...

Re: Your Top 10 Cars - ever
It was a tough choice as it turns out I have not driven many cars, and Metro's are loads of fun (also first and second cars)

Anyone know how to get it off when the locking mechanism has seized up?
I understand you can't get replacements so I don't want to get medieval if I can help it.

Re: I'm going to get the elise back on the road
Back at this - again! Due to lockdown I have saved a couple of £ and came to the realisation that I just don't have the time or inclination to recommission the elise in any shape or form myself so I am going to have to throw some money at it, especially as Ann wants me to sell it and buy a camper va...
