Re: The K-series engine is sh*t. True Story.
(no fancy cams)If you want a K that runs much beyond 150bhp on a "reliable" basis, I think you have to accept that it then becomes a light racing / sprinting engine and MUST be regularly inspected and overhauled accordingly. That probably means pulling it apart every year or after a handful of trac...

Re: Building a K 160 Sport engine to beat a Honda...
Nothing yet Craig, my fault, been so busy that i haven't sent the parts down that Simon needs. Stuart Any time you are ready Stu your cylinder head is a work of art and ready my new workshop up and running, so ready to go as soon as you sort out those parts - software programme shows the standard K...

Re: Building a K 160 Sport engine to beat a Honda...
I wasn't fishing or intending to wind anyone up so forgive me, no offence intended. Were you involved in development of the original conversion? Who are GKN? Like I said, all I'd heard (literally) were vague rumours and half stories so was looking for some opinions on the truth of the matter. Cheer...

Re: New Type of K Series Head Gasket Available??
As some of you know I am looking to replace the tired old 100K miles K series engine on my S1 Elise. I am planning to fit my existing Kiwi Rog head onto a circa 40K miles replacement short K series engine over the winter. Whilst surfing for parts, including a head gasket, I came across this article...

Re: Duratec in detail
Just an update on this! The gearbox installation was postponed as a chassis mod was required to fit the uprated prop shaft. The plan is now to do it after the season has finished. While I have the chassis stripped for this I have decided to upgrade the fuel system and fit taper throttle bodies. I'm...

Re: Independence SE Poll
Its not that many Yes voters are less intelligent of course, its about priorities. There is evidence that demographics will play a significant part in the decision, and as humans are fundamentally short-sighted, issues such as the welfare state, NHS spending, public services are the priorities for ...

Re: Independence SE Poll
I've kept fairly quiet on this on all platforms as the gnashing of gums on both sides is pretty tiresome. However, I have genuine creeping cold fear if Scotland does vote yes. I can't see a situation where small businesses (especially those dependent on trade nationally within the UK, never mind in...

Blimey... I thought you disappeared way back on 24th April when someone asked you for your very own (ie not a cut/paste of someone else's) opinion on being Better Together. Forgive me I actually started the thread so that I could hear scottish opinion rather than put my own however Since april I ha...

Re: Independence SE Poll
Anybody hear the whole speech by Johann Lamont tonight - very very good speech - if only all the yes voters had heard it - if only Darling was half as articulate - but I repeat my question - does anyone believe Salmond - and think there is a chance of a currency union? or that Cameron/Clegg/Milliban...

Re: Independence SE Poll
So a quick question for all you No voters... There is a "purdah" in force (which is my new word for the day) which if I understand it correctly says the govt won't initiate any new policies in the period between the campaign starting and the election, that m,ay influence hte outcome. Yet yesterday ...

Re: Scottish Independance - debate
So now the vote is just 10 days away, how's everyone's understanding of the issues - ? anyone on here believe Salmond and think that there will be currency union? Anyone on here think that a yes vote is not going to have huge financial, economic and social repercussions through England N. Ireland Wa...

Re: Scottish Independance - debate
Simon, Rather than posting massive screeds of cut-n-paste text and expecting everyone to read through it to find the bits that demonstrate your point, perhaps you could make your point by yourself and extract those bits of text that are relevant as quotes; if you think an article is of interest in ...
