Re: Cleaner brake pads.

I put a set of CL5+ on my car last summer. Didn't notice too much brake dust (maybe I need to try harder), however; I did a wet trackday at KH in September, then some local trips. I am booked on for KH this weekend, so as the weather has brightened up I thought I would use the car a bit to make sur...

I've not tried them but Ferodo DS2500 are supposedly good on the road (consistent, cold feel etc) and one of the least for dust?
I heard Mintex 1144 were 'dusty AF'.
I think I’ll give them a go, I used to use them on my V6’s and I see Eliseparts have them in S1 sizes 👍

Cleaner brake pads.

I’m currently using CL5+ brake pads, they’re great on track but I’m getting a bit fed up with the mess they create on the wheels. Today I did only 50 miles and my new gold wheels were black when I got home. I’m looking for a less messy pad I can use for road work and I can go back to CL5’s for track...

Holly thread resurrection :D

I wonder how many of these have died or have simply been tucked away, I imagine at that time a lot were used as almost daily hacks. Mine certainly was.
Mine has died and recently been resurrected, like a phoenix 🤣🤣

Re: LeMans Classic 2025

Ross, I’ve got an Eliseparts boot rack for the S1. I’ve used it for going on the French Frolic, it allowed us to take clothes for a week and two crash helmets. You’re most welcome to borrow it if you want.

Cheers
Graham

Re: S1 S160 no starty

Beware, the lead to the coil is a bitch to remove and refit. A bit of skin loss from above or easier access from underneath with under tray removed.

Re: S1 S160 no starty

Hi Ross, I’ve just changed mine, my car has a single coil. Some of the vvc cars have two coils. It was a bit of a pain getting access, I had to remove the flexi pipe from the exhaust to gain access. You can only get to it from underneath a pain but easily do able, it’s only held in place by three bo...

Just checked it was the £14 boots I purchased, they survived 35C heat on track on the Frolic

Re: S1 Driveshaft CV boot

Thanks for this Kinger - I had no intention of doing the job myself but I'll be able to pass this onto the guy doing the work :thumbsup No worries about losing gearbox oil/needing topping up? :cheers We just made sure we did one side at a time, and if jack up enough no problem with oil leakage.

I’ll have at look when I get home tomorrow, currently on Le Shuttle. I think it was the more expensive ones.

Re: S1 Driveshaft CV boot

It’s a pretty straightforward job, I’ve replaced all mine a couple of weeks back. I bought them from Elise parts as they came with correct grease and retaining clips. After removing the hub nut ( it’s really tight) in was just a case of removing the two bolts securing the top wishbone to the chassis...
