I've had it in Dundee for about 15 years now Only moved to this side of town a few years ago tho. To be fair the only Elise I see in Dundee these days it the Krypton green one parked on the Kingsway.
I was just going to post about that. Yea only saw you right at the last second wasn't even sure you saw me wave. The first Elise I've seen on the road this year!
Some bits of that road weren't bad, the up and downy bit, was quieter on the way back which was better!
The front right inside pot was sticking on, I removed the caliper and worked it back an forth with a bit of silicone spray - then it was as good as new… Until a month later and it was as bad as before! Some serious shuddering, it's not even drive-able at the minute. Is it time to replace some rubber...
It's the release bearing; when you start to apply pressure on the pedal the actuator arm pushes the bearing against the pressure plate which compresses the bearing a little and it stops squealing. New bearing required and soon, probably. They can fail leaving you with no clutch. It should go withou...
This is the OEM alternator I got a year or two ago. Not the cheapest at £170 ish but they do the S2 vesrion as well which looks identical but is £50 less. There is possibly a good reason for the 30% price difference? http://www.amp-starters.co.uk/product.asp?strParents=0&CAT_ID=0&P_ID=35470&strPageH...
...Ironic really when you think about Dundee versus Aberdeen. Part of the reason the council did nothing when the oil came to the NE was that the oil majors kept threatening to go to Dundee if Aberdeen screwed them over. The oil majors then screwed the city over and there is no recourse. Rant over....
After doing a couple of hundred miles everything is working perfect... except for - the bane of my life - fekin heater blower! I put power to the blower by-passing the resistor pack and it still didn't work. Over a year ago me and my dad took out the blower (which hadn't worked for way over year) an...
P.S. here's a picture of my burnt out fuel pump fuse and fuse holder! Some little bits maybe fell out when I removed it but that's pretty much how it was while in the car!?
Well there's great news and not so good news ! The great news is, I fitted the new fuse etc from Halfords as Robin suggested, turned on the ignition, heard the fuel pump -sounding louder than ever- and it started up perfectly! Sweet! So I drove around a bit, feeling confident I then visited a friend...
As the fuel pump fuse is the easiest to check try that first as I had exactly the same problem. It can get corroded so be intermittent as opposed to a complete failure. As Bob says it is located at the left rear near the ECU. I think that it is in a holder and a fairly big fuse, could be 40 amp, so...
It looks like it might just be the fuse! :-) But ffs, it took me over an hour to realise I'd even found it (assuming I have), through what Lotus call an 'access' hole. As the fuse appears to be melted / rusted / dissolved away to almost nothing! The thing the fuse goes into hasn't faired well either...
