When you reconnect the battery, if you start the car before the immobiliser lit kicks in the car should start without pressing key fob. Not a great advert for the cars security system, but it generally works.

I run with ULTRASEAL (liquid tyre sealant) in my tyres. Have done for years. I would suggest given a try.

Just to following up on this problem, as someone may back track through old posts in hope of answers. This problem came back recently, with just the click of the solenoid then the fuse finally blowing. Stripped out starter, cleaned and lubricated, although it looked spotless. Refitted but still the ...

I have never done the job your attempting, but have used similar piping on machinery. I've always found the best way is to gently stretch out about 10-20mm at end. In a way that it loses its concertina effect. Then use pliers to help shape and form end. If possible, try to twist from side to side as...

You were behind me coming off M8 and I gave you a wee wave as I pulled over on expressway, to let you by. Also seen a white Elise on same road on my way back a few hours later.
I'm afraid to confess that mine only comes out in good weather - which basically means never :/
