Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

My experience with the FSO is so good that my MP has offered to ask the minister responsible a question in parliament.

I am VERY pleased with this idea but we actually got a provisional judgement last week in our favour. Still no money though...

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

AS it came up I like the i3. For motorways and citys it's nearly perfect. But it doesn't have the depth of a proper hot hatch, the chassis is too limited by its traction control. (Amongst other things)

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

What about an i3? You will easily win the traffic light starts. It’s not so good at handbrake turns with the electric handbrake though. Fuel bills would be most welcome and the mp/charge should keep you happy. Steve. Electric residuals too unproven yet. Certainly would look at it. Anytime...

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k

Wow. Might have a winner there, Gary. Assume similar annual budget to purchase price to keep it going?! If your going to wear a medalion it has to have a complimenting chest rug. Ditch the 2.2 and go for a proper Alfa: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201907029653600?atmobcid=soc3 Geor...

Re: Dreaded Clutch Problem (Sport350)

Eight months. Amateur hour. I chased my claim following a bodged engine install by a garage through my credit card. The Financial Services OMbudsman are a very difficult organisation to deal with. At one point they gave me compensation for not giving me any updates. Then didn't give me any more upda...

Re: Take back control

It's not car related but my mate does pictures of boats. We've got one of the Queen Mary under construction, he's quite well thought of so they aren't the cheapest but I never tire of looking at it...

Re: 200BHP, 266lbft, 77 kg, engine & transmission

TBH I was just mocking the grammar.

It sounds like a great idea, although the recharge time issue is exaggerated at the moment as battery range goes up it becomes more of a problem.

Re: 200BHP, 266lbft, 77 kg, engine & transmission

I thought that this looked like a great solution (pun intended) for the time taken to charge electric cars.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-45179722 That's a really interesting article actually. I'm not sure what they mean by Drivers would use filling stations to refuel their electric car...

Re: 200BHP, 266lbft, 77 kg, engine & transmission

Suzy and I were up in Aviemore last Autumn and, thanks to scattered shifts, she had to bring up the i3 up. We eidn't buy it for long journeys, we bought it to commute in which it's been ace at but... So the i3 range is about 120 miles, less in the cold but what kills it isn't hooning (the regen brak...

Re: Glasgow low emission zone

Just in case you don't already know the low emission zone kicked in for buses on 31st Dec and will kick in for cars 31st Dec '22. Lots of details to be fleshed out but long story short is if you not a euro 6 diesels (sept 15) or euro 5 petrol (Jan 06) then you'll be charged for entering city centre...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)

There IS a benefit in paying tax, it contributes to the society, it's why Denmark is lovely and why the countries where no-one pays tax are awful! Council tax is nuts, but I'd wonder how a 1% tax works, is it collected centrally and then dished back out? There's certain suburbs are going to be utter...
