Re: Secret features in cars

Whaaaaat!? I did not know that. I was contemplating paying to have CarPlay enabled so that I could have texts read out. That’s very handy, cheers Kenny 👍🏼

And yes, the BMW voice recognition is pointless.

Re: E10 Fuel compatibility

E10 not suitable https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/fuel-compatibility/ Also just in case anyone needed to confirm, same page  Diesel – The Lotus Elise, Exige and Evora WILL NOT operate on diesel fuel. On the gov.uk page it also helpfully tells you that diesel and electric vehicles will not oper...

Re: Secret features in cars

The other thing my missus does in the bmw which is totally unnecessary is pressing P on the gear selector.
When you come to a stop your foot will be on the brake and if you press the engine stop button it automatically goes into park.

Re: Secret features in cars

Just push the engine stop button twice- once to kill the engine then again to kill everything else.

Re: SE BMW M2 Club

My M2 is away now as well. Threw the toys out the pram and got rid sharpish after having to put up with Arnold Clark as the Main Dealer for servicing and warranty work. Didn't help when i found out the £1k warranty is basically expensive toilet paper too. Great cars but no car is good enough to mak...

Re: PDK in snow

Not PDK/DSG but I find sticking my BMW auto in eco mode helps too. Softens the throttle response.

Fit winter tyres though and you don’t need to worry, even with an auto.

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

Guess I should go next. Chopped in the old w212 wagon and the M140i as there was one day in the last 10 months that saw both off the drive. Replaced by the unicorn that is an E400d All Terrain. Still getting to grips with it but should suit our lifestyle well. With our frequent trips to the Cairngo...

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

For me it's nice to get back into something where you can use full throttle for more than a few secs. it's not as fast as the m2 obviously but in terms of usable performance there's not much in it. That’s a very good point. Probably the reason why my R53 Cooper S was the most enjoyable car I’ve own...

Re: Watch lovers?

Since we’re talking about Planet Oceans, I was lucky enough to receive a genuine Omega leather strap for my recent big birthday. It’s the strap for a Speedmaster and I know it’s not really the done thing to put leather on a divers watch but I really like it, changes the watch completely from the bra...

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

Not quite in the same league.....working from home has meant things have changed a bit. It's brilliant fun and pretty much free to run https://i.imgur.com/tosf37P.jpg (photo taken in it's spiritual home) I really like that, kind of tempted by one for the wife but perceived quality of the interior h...

Re: Secret features in cars

I’m guessing it’s not a secret feature but if a Mercs wipers are on but the rear one isn’t it give a quick courtesy rear wipe when you slot reverse. Even Skodas do that Sanj  I owned a Ford Kuga at one point. It also had the split rear hatch like the BMW pic. Think I might have used it once -...

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

Love a mk7 GTI. One was high on the list to get instead of the 335 but I decided the boot was too small for the one week a year we go to Aviemore on holiday  Lovely looking cars though. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210121/629a22bd668d988ce51cc5f4d4f06b5a.jpg Let me know how the 3 series...
