Checked out Meerkat / Churchill myself after seeing Campbell’s original post.
Quote from Churchill for £162 - half of the cost, on same terms, as my (now previous!) provider. Quote me happy indeed
Thanks for the pointer Campbell

Re: Ally on the Angus backroads nr Corn Kist
Hi Jim - yes, that was me - enjoying a run around the lovely Angus roads - did see the flash and wave, but you were past before I could respond
I’m looking forward to spotting / hearing the Stratos being put through its paces on the local roads in the near future

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?
Thanks Ally - yeah it'll have been me heading over to see my folks in B/F on Saturday :thumbsup I take it you weren't in the Elise? Not in the Elise, was on foot - if you noticed a strange character standing in the middle of the road at the road works, peering at your car like a crazed stalker as y...

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?
Look great Ross – congratulations, sure that will be great fun
P.S. Think I spotted the car a couple of days ago heading towards B/Ferry past the roadworks at foot of Victoria Road, but wasn’t certain it was you - can’t be (m)any others like that in the area!

Edited to ask: Do you know whether it's had the fuel rail recall carried out?

Re: Craig Moncrieff thank you.
Through at CMC again recently for Elise service & MOT – great service, as always, from Craig and his team. Thanks to all. Also feel lucky to have someone, with Craig’s knowledge and experience, who’s always happy to take time to provide help and advice throughout the year, no matter how large or sma...

Re: Leven car company Administration
Took about 90 mins from my door to Park's - just took it easy down A9 / M9 / M80 / M73 - set off around 06:30, so roads were quiet most of way through.

Re: Leven car company Administration
Had my recall work carried out (at last!) by Hamilton Mini last Friday - good service and setup there, given current restrictions - was in and away in about 90 mins. Interestingly, given above discussions about Ayr, when I asked about location(s) for their new Lotus franchise, bloke I was chatting t...

Re: Leven car company Administration
Have also received my recall notice - found this detail elsewhere on t’interweb: “The plastic spacers fitted between the fuel rail and cylinder head may expand and contract, which can cause a reduction in the clamping force of the bolts securing the fuel rail to the cylinder head resulting in the fu...

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k
Rather late to the party with this, but how about the Abarth 595?
Never driven one, so can’t comment on that rather vital factor , but like the looks personally..... and they make a nice noise
Also, guess they’re more of a “super mini” than “hot hatch”, so not sure of rear seat space?

Re: Where are you getting your tyres from?
Took delivery of full set of LTS2 stamped AD07s from Tyreleader recently - £153 fronts £187 rears - all delivered to home in under a week. Only slightly strange thing was fronts and rears arrived in 2 separate shipments, from two different carriers, but not a big deal for me. They’ve been sat in gar...
