Funny - A048s don't have so good a rep in the wet - must just be soft SELOCers looking at them and thinking that they cant be good with so little tread. I found the change from Maxies to R888s scary stuff in the wet - had got used to driving pretty hard on the Maxies in all conditions and suddenly t...

Funny Neil, LOVE maxies in the wet. Are we talking wet, or pools of standing water? Granted standing water puckers the sphincter, but on everything else they grip like sticky sh*t!

Yeah - absolutely. 120 isn't much until you do the power to weight sums! The mid-engine-d-ness of the Elise (along with the short wheelbase and weight being relatively high up) means it breaks away quicker that most rear engined cars. Great fun when you get it hardwired into your brain mind you! <--...

Used Maxsports for ages, then the quality started to vary massively. Last set was Toyo R888. Have to say I'm not getting them again. They are much more expensive that Maxies (as they're not retreads, obviously) but don't have the same feeling of security. They feel kinda vague. Grip level is no bett...

Yes G, I kinda agree on that one. Maybe worth spending a chunk of the budget on an S1 160 or the like, better nick than it'd be with a Honda conversion done already (for the same money) Drive it for a year to get used to the handling/blow up the K series, then spend the rest of the budget (which you...

Not particulary sure why Fd has such a bee in his bonnet about it. Possibly too much vin rouge. At the end of the day, the guys who started it (Robin/Del) don't have a problem - in fact Robin seems wholeheartedly behind us (probably because it'll reduce the amount of crap I post on the Yahoo list ;) )

Yup, use Firefox, plus tighten up the cookie handling in Internet Explorer, if you must use it.

But, like I say Firefox is the way forward!

Yeah, I've always viewed S_E online. Probably part of the reason that I'm guilty of drivel... Try to keep it to a minimum these days though. There's still this knot of people who WILL NOT convert to a forum, despite conveniences like 'today's posts' and flat rate internet. It's a problem, but hopefu...

Reflectors rusting? Mine are, but not too bad yet - for that money, I'd whack in a slightly less rusty pair!
