Re: Solar panels
Just got the quote through at just over £5k installed. As with everything else they are up in price but still think it is worth while over the longer term and for getting the most out of our panels. Looking at our generation now the sun is out we are exporting 80% of what we are making despite using...

Re: Solar panels
One thing to bear in mind is that your DNO will have capped the export at 3.8kWh (capital W to keep Robin's blood pressure in check) so regardless of your generation rate your inverter (if grid tied) shouldn't produce more than 3.8kWh. That's assuming I have understood the blurb about export and gri...

Re: Solar panels
We already have a 4.6kw array on the roof but having the field means I have been looking at panels for a ground array. Planing aside the tricky bit is the support frame as they can be quite expensive. Other than that we have a south facing section with no over shadow and space for as many as we want...

Update on the headlights, they never re-appeared good old Royal Mail have know idea where they are. Takes quite a lot to break a PG-1 with a standard engine.

I used Kinghorn auto body in Blackburn for the R8 and they did a fantastic job. Not cheap but very good.

Re: S1 Gearbox backlash
You worry to much, check your drive shaft nuts (Torque = 220Nm and make sure the indents are knocked in with a punch) and then drive it till it breaks.

Re: Leccy cars
One thing I have noticed with charging points, especially the ones in towns is that locals park their car and connect it to the public charger and just seem to leave it plugged in. In Turriff for example I can see a car connected to the charger in the morning and it will still be there when I pass b...

Re: Radford Lotus Type 62/2
600bhp from the engine wasn't an issue, Lotus could have done that. It's the gearbox that wouldn't handle that power so as long as they aren't using the same box the engine should be fine.
