Re: Parks Lotus

Good shout - their responder treats it like a general enquiry, but clearly just signing up to a mailing list. Will be good to see how they engage.

Re: Type 131

Love Auto Express lazily using a Bahar render (cos obviously there's no images yet) but not actually saying that anywhere that I can see, so folks will start debating the looks of a years old dead concept again :) WRT the story? Seems a really odd niche, unless you subscribe to the Evora being the 9...

Re: Help.

If I was still up in Ayr, I'd have shot over, but I'm an hour further south now. It's literally two bolts to get the damper off and as Ali says, they are adjustable platforms, so just clean the threads and wind the collars off (having measured reasonably accurately, how far they are threaded on, to ...

Re: Knockhill track sessions

I think it's been a looong time since the notorious Hot Hatch events. Not got personal experience of the clientele at the open events in recent years, but Knockhill like running a fairly tight ship (speaking from an organisers POV). As you say, maybe a bit of a lottery on who's in that session and n...

Re: Leven car company Administration

Interesting how many people think Ayr is the arse end of nowhere... (speaking as someone actually living in the arse end of nowhere) I'm sure Lotus would prefer a central site, but I think you'll probably find it a beggars/choosers situation with a Parks relationship and there's plenty space at the ...

Not the best time to buy, but at least you can give it a good clean and dig through it to get to know the car first. Enjoy when you get the chance.

Re: Still not done Stelvio

The thing about Stelvio being a destination for Elises was more about it being a torture test for the brakes on the way down in the original development of the car, rather than it being a belting driving road, no? Certainly, the only reasons I'd consider it would be as a destination to a continental...

Re: Lotus Mode -E10 Compatible?

Looking at what I think would be bespoke to the S1/Rover S2 - fuel lines between pump and fuel rail? No issues there - hose won't be problematic. Fuel pump? Is that non MGF - not sure why it would be other than space or location, but don't know. The only thing is the tank and, more importantly, the ...

Re: Are track days all you do in your Lotus then?

Yer an erse John, but you know that :thumbsup IMO, we've got a more fundamental issue. What Ali says is bob-on for starters. When we were doing road runs regularly, it was a different time - and remember, most people aren't running about in circa 120-150bhp Elises any more - which you could leather ...

Re: 1,000 mile service

Block Exemption rules state that car manufacturers can't lock you into official dealers to maintain warranty (sorry, just noticed this thread) so it's written in law that you can use an indy as long as they use official parts and follow the official schedule. The only hiccup it may generate further ...

Re: Cam reprofile for beginner and children

Cams *tend to* just move the torque curve about. So you'll get a bit less shove lower down, traded off with more power as the revs increase. Standard engines also have to do things like comply with emissions regs etc, not something that's generally helped by throwing more fuel and air through them. ...

Re: UK Louts Centre....anybody any experience with them?

The only things I've ever read about them is that they are utter crooks. Allegedly.

Flogging completely written off chassis with suspension pickups ripped out as "repairable" etc.

Run, don't walk.
