Re: 1,000 mile service

Block Exemption rules state that car manufacturers can't lock you into official dealers to maintain warranty (sorry, just noticed this thread) so it's written in law that you can use an indy as long as they use official parts and follow the official schedule. The only hiccup it may generate further ...

Re: Cam reprofile for beginner and children

Cams *tend to* just move the torque curve about. So you'll get a bit less shove lower down, traded off with more power as the revs increase. Standard engines also have to do things like comply with emissions regs etc, not something that's generally helped by throwing more fuel and air through them. ...

White S2 spotted at Newton Stewart - Sun 21st Apr

Elaine was in the Evora and got a wave out the roof - I was following along on the Japanese crotch rocket. Cracking day for a drive :thumbsup

Re: UK Louts Centre....anybody any experience with them?

The only things I've ever read about them is that they are utter crooks. Allegedly.

Flogging completely written off chassis with suspension pickups ripped out as "repairable" etc.

Run, don't walk.

Re: Craig Moncrieff thank you.

Cracking service from Craig - this is a longish one! We'd been scratching our heads about keeping the Evora or swapping to something that's less of a PITA for us to get to service (we're 2.5 hours from CMC on a good day and since having a wee boy, we've just not had time to take a day out to run abo...

Re: S3 Elise Light Upgrades

Not personal recommendation as I've not had opportunity to try yet, but are there not now super bright LED options that fit in place of standard bulbs? Would deffo be investigating these (speaking as a bloke who melted light connectors using rally bulbs back in my S1 days)

Re: Interested in an Evora

Yep - we recently went through the process of trying to find a replacement for it, for our use, but really didn't come up with anything that ticks the boxes it does so comprehensively and could be anywhere near budget. Pennies to maintain, proper stop and stare looks for most folks, comfortable, qui...

Apparently My X5 is affected, not a peep from BMW. I’ve had a few Subaru’s and the dealer was probably the best experience I’ve had from a car dealer. S and S Services Ayr. My dear old Mum worked for them for years in the office - back when they were in Mossblown. A challenging pair of chaps to wor...

Re: Danish Audiophiles

Yeah, bit of an 80s B&O fetish here... Beosystem 4500 in the dining room as a lovely sideboard topper (Elaine constantly unimpressed) running a pair of CX100s on the mantelpiece. Beosystem 5005 in the snug with a set of BeoVox RL 60.2 speakers. Right combo of audio performance and stunning looks for...

80% in 30 min at a dc rapid charge station Assuming the one you're planning on using is working that day. Seems to be a bugbear that the networks are up and down like a tarts knickers. Not massive if you're commuting around a city, but limits desire in more rural locales... A mate of mine used to r...

Oops my comments and Shugs above applicable to Elise rather than Exige.
Can’t inagine much difference from a 2008 until whenever S2 stopped but will leave owners to comment.
Indeedy - when somebody just posts S2, I think Elise... Odd one, never realised that I mentally do that.

Re: Any late model S2 owners?

I'm never sure about the S2/S3 thing. S3 seems just to have been the headlights changing, with the usual annual or semi annual round of minor upgrades - doesn't really represent a model change to me... The S2 underwent constant evolution - to the point that I bet the difference between a "late" S2 a...
