Re: Lotus Garage ornament

There was someone on here that did laser cut vinyl in the past, but I can't recall who, if I made one, it'd likely be rough and for me

I'm a DIY guy with a have a go attitude rather than a pro

Re: Lotus Garage ornament

I thought this was a thread about my Elise  Clock looked quite nice, can't help but think you could DIY one of those for a lot less than 4-500 quid. Build a lightbox, add some vinyl and a knife could surely get decent results, laser cut vinyl for perfect finish, and you could dispense with the...

Re: Write off

I always think it's funny when people try to sell a car without first introducing it to a hoover. It looks a state in the photos, if you can't be bothered cleaning it (or paying someone to do it for you), what else can't you be bothered doing. On the flip side, my Elise was last MOT'd in June 2019, ...

My car, which is on a totally different level to the one in the video, is due to be delivered in 2 weeks but something has come up that might be too good to miss so I'll see how that fits in.

Now that's the sort of sentence we all expect

Re: Lotus teaser/launch update link

The last of the manual Ferraris seem to command quite a premium over their flappy paddle equivalent. Shame the last can't be said about the last manual Maserati's... :leave The Emira is a wonderful looking thing, it looks like Lotus have nailed it, much more than the awkward lines of the Evora, or ...

Re: New(ish) car .. not really Lotus Content and a long wait..

I wish I'd had the foresight to pay up dribs and drabs for 3 years to get one of those at the end, it's a bit like playing the lottery and finding out you've won!

It's looking great, you must be like a kid waiting for xmas.

Re: S1 lights LED Headlights and driving lights?

To add to the above, note that the facebook one, the photo with the grey car, they have painted the black rings with white paint. They are visible around the headlight (see photo with grey car) there is a white band around the headlight. Can't tell if headlights are convex lenses like the Elise ones...

Re: S1 lights LED Headlights and driving lights?

A lot of the replacements use Chinese LED units that are designed to replace the headlight on a Harley Davidson, and... something I don't fully understand about the difference between motorcycle headlights and car headlights is missing from them (could just be a rating or something?), but it doesn't...

Re: Anyone bought a new car recently?

Huge amount of love for both Alfa's, old and new. Congrats guys, they are both amazing looking cars that would appear on my list of wants. Really wish I'd done more than just look at importing South African 105 coupe's 10-15 years back! Thanks Chris - isn't hindsight a wonderful thing! :damnfunny M...

Although I didn't buy it from him, mine was originally owned by DaveG on here (at the time) who traded it into the dealer I bought it from 14 years and 1 week ago.

Re: Secret features in cars

I’m guessing it’s not a secret feature but if a Mercs wipers are on but the rear one isn’t it give a quick courtesy rear wipe when you slot reverse. Our 2007 Fiat Panda does that  The things I can think of that I suspect not many people know about, or perhaps just don't use as they aren't that...

Not quite in the same league.....working from home has meant things have changed a bit. It's brilliant fun and pretty much free to run https://i.imgur.com/tosf37P.jpg (photo taken in it's spiritual home) I really like that, kind of tempted by one for the wife but perceived quality of the interior h...

Re: Elise - we Salute You

As you all know, I'm fairly quiet around here, and if anything, wish I'd been more active over the years. Like others, I was 25 when I bought my first Elise - I actually viewed it on my 25th birthday, unlike most others, I still have it and I'm 39 next month. I can't imagine not having one in the ga...
