Blimey! I have an electric compressor which has no starter so you need to flick it into motion. It can chew your fingers if you don't flick it on in the right fashion. It bloomin hurts when you get it wrong.

As with selling a motor bike, you can request a 'substantial' deposit (if not the whole price) before taking the car out if they only have 3rd party. The 'you break it, you buy it' idea should be enforced.

The day insurance thing is great info though. I'd never seen that before.
