Re: VAG - Naughty
Depend on what the US tax vehicles based on (I don't know) . . . this is NOx emissions and not CO2, so in the UK there would be no revenue change. Bigger issue for VAG is that this effectively invalidates the type approval for the vehicle, and could, therefore, ban the cars from being used I think (...

Re: Fuel quantity gauge - fooked . . .
Awesome - so some options there - appreciated. I've burned off 1/4 tank of fuel and no change . . . until I gave it about 5 miles of violent f1 stylee tyre warming action on the way home - to try to move the float up and down (my thinking is the pot tracks may be corroded) . . . fuel readings have g...

Fuel quantity gauge - fooked . . .
MOT passed with no comments but it seems my fuel gauge is reading random numbers with no pattern . . . Gut feeling is the float is stuck, or the pot is dead but I'll well it out to be sure . . . I'll run a couple of tanks through it just in case but not looking hopeful . . . Tank out job, where is t...

S1 wiper blade / arm : borrow
Elise in for it's MOT on Monday - handily the wiper blade is the only thing that's not ready and I forgot about it.
Anybody in the Perth/Stirling/Doune area have one I can borrow for a day ?
My car has the original 2000 S1 wiper arm - not sure if it's the same as the early S2's ?

Re: What's in for the Police?
My son, Gordon, Started a new job this week in Stirling. It's was an early start for him on Sunday and about 8am he was pulled over by the police for no obvious reason other than he's a young lad in a Clio Cup. Now we've spent many hours checking and fixing up the car and it has just passed an MOT ...

Re: Gear cables / Seat Restoration
So I fitted the latest Elise parts gear cables to the car today, they pretty much fit straight on but needed a little fettling which needed some holes in the cable ends threaded a little deeper than they were out of the box . . . If you need to do a cable change, take the handbrake out, there are po...

Re: Gear cables / Seat Restoration
There's an auto trimmers in Perth on the Dunkeld road - I'll see if they can do it . . . God a set of cables from Elise Parts, they look pretty much identical to the ones in the car, just not jammed . . . so we'll get them put on and that should be enough to get it MOT'd . . . Will need a set of tyr...

Gear cables / Seat Restoration
So, just bringing my car back to life . . . 7+ years in diesels and single seaters leaves me wondering whether I really want an Elise . . . so we'll see whether this is it's pre-sale service or the start of another 100K miles . . . I changed all the pedal box bushes, hellish job, but what a differen...

Re: Ever faster . . .
May make Fburn, need to check my calendar - over in Finland a lot at the moment. Car only has about 600bhp/ton, it's an older spaceframe car, can't beat the weight of the carbon tubbed cars . . . Need to be brave and take some wing off as that's a huge factor in top speed, unfortunately also in bein...
