Re: West Coast Hotels???
Isle of Eriska hotel looks nice, but not managed to try it yet. Not stayed in or been to it for a few years, but really nice place and great facilities. As an option, okay not on the west coast but the north coast how about http://www.tonguehotel.co.uk/ No hot-tub or pool or other such, but great f...

Re: Achmelvich Ticks
I just bought a tick lasoo, I bought one of them a few years ago, and I've not had a problem with ticks since. Must act like a lucky charm or something, I've never had to use it. :D Having found ticks after camping before, make sure to check place where they can hide, e.g elbows, backs of kneees be...

Re: Weekend Mamoomahs
I'm working tonight and at least tomorrow morning, still tempted with the thought of Sat night at Achmelvich and a wee run round the north coast on Sun, but probably wont.

Re: NLC Air con re-charge
Turns out a stone has gone into the condenser unit - new one required. Found a supplier on line that will do one for just over £100; think I'll have a go at fitting it myself. How hard can it be??? Should be easy enough to put it in place, you may need 'special' tools, i.e not an angle grind...

Re: Edinburgh Parking
The streets around that Travelodge should be ok, Eglinton cres, Magdala, round the corner at Douglas Cres etc, but they all (I think) have restrictions/ticketing. It will depend on what time you are arriving and departing as to whether you need to pay or not. There is a car-park at Haymarket Yards n...

Re: nice day for it, abz-oban.
I got caught up in this incident on the A9 and was heading home from Inverness. Thought I would be clever and doubled back at Ballinluig to Ptlochry and then over to Brairgowrie. The journey took 4.5 hrs in total. I heard it was shut on the radio, so turned off the A9 just before the end of the lon...

Re: NLC Air con re-charge
I have been told you can refil with camping gas butane/propane mix... but unsure about how to go about it... You would need to ensure the system you have is suitable for running on butane which is known as R600a. It's more commonly used in domestic or light commecrial refrigeration applications. I ...

Re: NLC Air con re-charge
Related question anyone know about R12 (CFC) systems - can they still be recharged? R12 is no longer available and illegal (I believe) to use.#It's ok in existing systems, but you can't top-up a system with it. You will be looking at a retro-fit to another gas, which will involve changing a couple ...

Infact, he turned in sooo early he clicked the back of the red bull He clipped the back of the Red Bull because he had to run wide, not because he turned in. Hamilton made a pretty feeble joke, it's not funny when Ali G says it, even less funny when Hamilton said it in an interview. Alonso and Vett...

Re: F1 Turkey
I would just put the cars on skinny tyres and let them have as much power as they like. Skinnier tyres and a lot less area on front and rear wings, no aero elements on side pods or barge boards etc and definitly no return of the wee areo parts at the side of the cockpit like wing mirrors on stalks.
