Re: SORN Question

This is the first winter I've even approximated laying up - but I still keep them taxed and insured for the odd crisp winters day. That said, the MV hasn't been out at all, due to the inch thick layer of salt. Probably will SORN it next winter. Had the Kawasaki over in Edinburgh on Monday - great ri...

Re: Zenos

The E10 however was never designed as a track special, it is primarily a road car and it does drive beautifully on the road, the suspension is superb in my mind, every bit as good as the Lotus cars. I should've specced a windscreen though, you live and learn :blackeye That was kinda my point Kenny ...

Re: Dead K Series

Your car is a 120bhp K S2, yah? Has a CR box as standard then. If it is standard. Yah! Buuuut, my box broke last year right before going to the ring so now has a standard S1 PG1 courtesy of the very kind Simon Ironside, fitted by Craig in a hurry lol so I do have a CR box at home that needs a rebui...

Re: Young driver insurance

How many years no claims do you have?

That said, insuring sub 25yo on a modified performance car (no matter how factory it is, that SC kit is still classed as a mod) is going to involve some rectal pain, no matter who with... :(

The Flux quote isn't a million miles away from what I'd expect, sadly.

Re: Zenos

Very limited market. A car with no doors or roof is no use to me living in Raintown. Apart from hardcore track days enthusiasts i'd imagine 95% of buyers would take an Elise with weather protection . I've heard chat the business plan was the E10 would prove the chassis concept and create capital to...

Re: Nico Rosberg retires

1 year contract for Bottas. So end of season he gets binned and replaced by Vettel or Alonso . Unless he out performs Lewis, but I'm doubting that. He didn't exactly annihilate Massa. Agree, slightly disappointed in bottas' performance against Massa last year, was hoping for more of a young kimi or...

Re: Exige Race 380 - £120,000

I fear we're coming at this from the wrong perspective; compare it to the competition. There's clearly a market for track only cars that aren't exactly bargains - Vulcan, FXX, P1 GTR. Granted the lotus isn't in the same league necessarily but will it be a tenth as good as those £1.2m specials? It'l...

Re: Exige Race 380 - £120,000

Impressive and all, but ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THOUSAND POUNDS! For something with a 20 year old chassis design and a Camry engine.

I hope they sell them and it helps further bolster the company, but I question the sanity of people actually spending that money on it.

Do check out the recommendations in the Insurance sub forum. Of course, if you're very young, some of the specialists won't look at you.

Re: Manifold Replacement

Peak, probably not a lot without remapping, but you'd likely gain some midrange torque that'll make it feel faster than a few BHP at the top end would anyway.

Re: Craig Moncrieff thank you.

Another thanks for monty. Short notice service for elaines evora - turns out it needed front discs and pads, but fitted from stock, so all completed same day. Great price, plus even fixed a tpms glitch that previously wouldn't clear. Even got a spit and polish for the three hour drive home through t...

Re: Looking for 111R

Hi Bruce, I've moved this to the General forum as you'd stuck it in classifieds. Whilst that's the logical place, as it's a wanted ad, you also asked for feedback and the Classified forum is locked for replies, so moved it here so you if anyone wants to give you any feedback, they can! IMO - 111R is...

Re: Rebuilding The Shed (formerly aka the Shugmobile)

The nimbus looks great - the original heat shield was pretty rough though  Just catching up with this. Yeah - the car has a 4-2-1 manifold and I'd stuck an additional metal heatshield round that, mostly to give the alternator a bit of an easier time. Basically in the process of shoving it do...
