Really enjoyed both shows in the new series.
Was very sceptical about Flintoff and McGuiness but the chemistry between the three of them seems pretty natural.
Much better than anything Clarkson et al have done for years in my opinion.

Re: Any recommended MOT stations near Dunfermline?
There’s two MOT places that I use locally: Smeaton Coachworks in Kirkcaldy, Tom Wilson, his Dad before him, and, now his son have been MOT’ing my motors for years. Fair, no bullsh%t and copes with the Elise. ALM, Andrew Lamont Motorsport in Kelty did my Caravelle and has a new MOT lane. Tester seem...

Falkland Performance centre in Glenrothes are used to dealing with Elise variants.
Has the Exige in there for MOT the past two years.
Generic chains like Kwik-fit have to be the worst place to take a specialist car like a Lotus.

Re: Anyone used TyreLeader?
Just to update this, tyres eventually turned up after 12 days (7 working days as there was a bank holiday weekend in there).
All present and correct so as long as you’re not in a hurry then Tyre Leader are ok

Re: Anyone used TyreLeader?
Thanks guys, makes me feel better. Buried in the T&Cs is that tyres can take up to 8 working days to arrive so I guess I shouldn’t be concerned yet. I also paid on a credit card so have the peace of mind that if it goes belly up I’ll get the cash back. The car is at a local garage waiting on the tyr...

Anyone used TyreLeader?
Ordered 4 AO48s for the Exige last Friday from Tyre Leader. Still don’t have a tracking number or any sort of indication that they’re on the way. Filled in the online form which seems to be the only way to contact them yesterday but had no response. I guess I would just like to hear if anyone has su...

Re: Lotus marque has disappeared from Autotrader
Lotus still listed on the desktop site when I just checked.......
(there are lots of obscure manufacturers listed- Brooke, Chesil, Gardener, Weineck for example are all there and I've never heard of any of them)

Re: Child seats to fit Lotus harness hole seats
I seem to recall you’re fairly local to me (I’m in Kirkcaldy) so you’re welcome to pop by and try my seat if you can’t try one from a shop.

Re: Child seats to fit Lotus harness hole seats
Maxi-cosi Rodi (not isofix) fits the harness hole seats reasonably well. It’s a bit tight to get the seatbelt in but it’s narrow enough at the bottom to fit in the seat without rubbing on the bolsters. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3766372 It also comes apart and can be used just as a booster seat...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)
My understanding of the tax changes is that: * A salary less than £30K will result in less tax in Scotland than England. * A salary of £30K is about the same in Scotland and England * A salary of £45K will result in £500 more tax in Scotland * A salary of £200K will result in paying £2,500 more in ...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)
Playing Devils advocate here, would you keep the 20% rate for all and just do away with the higher rate, or increase the basic rate for everyone? Believe me, there’s nobody more annoyed about the way the SNP have set the higher rate tax band in Scotland. If I lived in England I’d save enough per yea...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)
I hear what you are saying Mike, and I certainly share the sentiment, however.... Basic living costs are fixed, it doesn’t matter if you’re on the dole or a lottery winner, a loaf of bread and pint of milk costs the same. The point is that once you reach a certain level of earning, every single penn...

Re: Latest Tax Grab by SNP/Greens (Council tax)
I’d have a hybrid system. It’s not a perfect rule but in general if you have a more expensive house you can afford to pay more so you should. But also if there are more people living in the house you use more water, generate more waste etc so you should also pay more. So why not keep the band system...

Re: Mobile Phones for kids?
R.e. The temperamental charger port, have you tried sticking a pin in it and fishing out all the pocket fluff!?
Every so often I find that the charger doesn’t ‘click’ into place like it should and a ton of fluff in the charger port is always the cause.
