Re: Elise S3 supercharger boost leak - repair/replace/upgrade
I am afraid I don't have any input on alternate charger. Given the tight integration with the intake and alternator I would be surprised if there are other generic chargers that work. For sure the hangar111 etc of this world would sell them if they did exist. I would be tempted to dismantle and see ...

Re: Yahoo Groups
I lost the email address that was the list owner. I tried to reclaim the list from Yahoo but they wanted me to send copies of passport and stuff like that by post. I wasn't bothered enough to continue...

Re: Tesla Model 3
We've had no issues to complain about - just lucky I guess. Compared to all the Lotus + the XC90 that I've owned, it's been fault free, even at the niggle level. No doubt something will break at some point soon! Biggest hassle we've had is that the Gretna services super charger is pants, half out of...

Re: Tesla Model 3
The Tesla guy told me their charger want eligible for the grant. We use the 3 pin mains plug which is fine.

Re: Voltage regulator ? Maybe.....
On S1 the temperature sensor is a one-wire sensor with the other "wire" being the earth path through the chassis. This is why when you turn on the heater fan or headlights, the temperature steps up/down - it's because you're adding a (small) offset voltage across the earth and that gets summed into ...

Re: Tesla Model 3
We've had ours just over a year now. Still have the A4 diesel but neither of us wants to drive it ;-). Of course other electric cars might be better - I have no way of knowing - but the Model 3 is great to drive. If you haven't ordered yet, you might consider two things. First you could use my refer...

Re: Out with the new and in with the old
I think chassis replacements are de rigueur for landies of a certain age. Great result though & top service from LR Motors too.

Double de clutching under pressure. If you dont get it driving in second within a few seconds you'll have lost so much momentum that you need first again
Needs a supercharger to give it some more torque

Re: Hard top lining
Possibly some 3M spray adhesive? Tape might be hard to get a good bond due to curved surface. If you want to try tape I suggest the thinnest VHB tape you can find. This is 1mm. There are skinnier types.

Re: Cycling
Will take a look with the chain guard off. The odd thing is that it works for a while, then fails. Don't think is as simple as indexing. More like the e shifter motor flakes out and cannot pull the chain properly.

Re: Cycling
The motor is on front wheel so actually the crank, chain, rear wheel are all like normal hub gear, except for the sh*t.
Electric cos it's for commuting and larks. No TdF pretentions at Iddon Towers!

Re: Cycling
It's in hub gears (sturmey archer) with e-shifter where normally the gear cable would emerge. Brand new and not working properly. Works for a while (like a couple of k) auto shifting as you speed up and stop at the lights. Then at some point it fails the upshift to 4th ... Display shows 4th gear but...
