When you buy a tin of 3-in-1 oil, it comes with a nozzle - I think you can just remove the cable from the outer, pour an entire tin of 3-in-1 down the core of the outer, then re-insert cable. I might also be inclined to pack the ends with a really heavy grease that will prevent water ingress. Cheers...

Rather than replace the light, get a plastic protector, remove any loose glass, and then fit the protector to what's left - worked for me!

Find a road that makes this happen all the time, then drive along it with the handbrake on (well not too tight, obviously) and see if it stops. Release handbrake and drive along again, this time with left foot applying some pressure to brake pedal. If it doesn't stop in either case, it's nothing to ...

I'll be whipping my undertray of either tonight or tuesday night - I'll take some photo's of my inner ball joints when I do. Mac Mac, the S2 (at least your vintage) has a balljoint with a threaded stud that acts as the pivot bolt for the wishbone also - it is "single sheer" as Shug describes. For t...

I suggest you put someone else's fuel filler cap on before splashing out any cash ...

It could just be venting past either the rubber seal or the pressure relief valve in the cap.

Not that caps are cheap ...

It was an awesome day, cracking driving and cracking weather to boot - some excellent pictures there - particularly pleased that you managed to catch the rampant sore on my ugly puss to complete the picture of beauty! Didn't see it but heard that the Focus RS met the tyres at Duffus. The scooby 'jus...

Don't let him test drive it - rather you take him for a drive. If he wants to test drive it, he will need to insure the car himself (3rd party) and agree in writing that he will purchase it in the event of any accident.

MY drivers side on the Exige failed within a month in the same manner - they replaced the release mechanism. Remove the door panel and it should be pretty obvious what's wrong. As you are out of warranty it might make sense to try and repair the old mechanism rather than buying a whole new one! Ah -...

How long before someone fits an emerald and turns on the VVti mechanism thus creating a 192bhp variant? Or is it not actually running the VVTi engine (they say it is though?).

Ah - I think this is the VVTi vs VVTLi thing ... ignore that then ...

The disks are different but the pads are the same (including the Toyota variants it seems). I am happy to lend out the pads - just get me a replacement set by return. If you're stuck MMC did stock the EBC greens once upon a time - you could easily slap a set of those in and they will last for the tr...

4mil = the amount of rubber that was always left on his tyres as in "Those tyres are fecked - you're not going to the ring on those are you?" - "There's 4 mil left on those!".
