Yeah, but Andy was sitting ON the M6, not IN it. That's a lot windier.

Re: All roads lead to Lotus... or do they?

Couldn't see the sense in the Litchfield T when I first read about it. Buy a Porsche, void the warranty, and make it virtually worthless when you try to sell it on or trade it in... But having looked again last week (when you mentioned it, Andy) I totally get it now. That's a genius package, possib...

Re: S3 suspension options

For anyone interested in steering arms, there's a group buy on legoelise.org for a pair that allows more camber (plus things like rose-jointed steering ends):

Re: S3 suspension options

Gordon, you need to go a little further than removing all the camber shims. I forget the name of the part, but basically You can machine a little bit away from where the camber shims bolt in. Not the upright side, the other side that connects to the steering rack. Take a little bit material from th...

Re: S3 suspension options

Has anyone got first hand experience of quantum, though? I keep dithering about them because I don't think I know anyone who has or is using them. Need more cars 😊 I dithered over them (Quantum Zero's) for about 3 years, then put them on my VX220. They were good. Not quite as road-friendly as the E...

Re: All roads lead to Lotus... or do they?

The Meg does look interesting and that one is hardcore enough to be special. I do much prefer the RWD tho although I had a Mini Cooper S years ago with an LSD and it was a proper hoot! Well, try as I might, I've not been able to create any understeer in the Meg (on the road - lift-off oversteer in ...

Re: All roads lead to Lotus... or do they?

Other left field choice - Megane RS You may baulk at a FWD Renault (I did initially before driving one), but they are very capable cars with an awesome chassis. I run one as a daily, and I don't think my SC VX would see which way it went on our roads.. The Trophy-R is the GT3 of that generation of h...

Re: All roads lead to Lotus... or do they?

Alpine looks better in the flesh than photos. Wildcard entry , BBR MX5 with 300 bhp, nobody would see you coming, or leaving . Really wildcard entry: MX5 with a crate LS3 525! If I fitted in a MX5, I'd be ordering the kit for this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDMrJhpeYiE&list=PLaeETZPdShsN8Xtwh...

Re: New(ish) car .. not really Lotus Content and a long wait..

Slight aside, but I recently seen this body conversion that uses a VX220 chassis (so by default, and Elise too).. The combination of these looks and the Lotus chassis might be my dream sports car!

Going for the Jim Clark Trust , Evora look .
For some reason all vx hardtops were silver when they first came out
The original NA hardtops were the same silver as the windscreen surround.
