Rattly Trumpets

Anybody know how these secure? There doesn’t seem to be any screws visible (although I didn’t take the backing plate off)

Re: So I bought a Lotus

Ah - https://flic.kr/p/M1dMns https://flic.kr/p/M1dMns That’s the only picture I have at the moment, too busy driving it! Although my enjoyment has been tainted slightly by the fact that I’m scared to overtake, as half the time I get stuck on the wrong side of the road with an engine that refuses to...

So I bought a Lotus

Hey guys, just thought I'd say hi. I have just recently chopped in my Cayman S for an Exige; was planning on buying a Sport 350, but somehow ended up convincing myself to buy an S1! Anyway, loving it so far, although the engine has a few gremlins which I'll need to sort out. I'm Dumbarton base...

Re: Thoughts on Exiges?

Brilliant guys - all great information and very helpful! I’m going to have a look at an S1 soon, how will I know if it’s running ok? Are the mapping’s/cam timings really that bad? I’m really looking for a fast road car and don’t mind getting my hands dirty now and again. Being an engineer in charge ...

Re: Thoughts on Exiges?

Thanks for the thoughts; much appreciated. I’ve done the whole S1-S2-S3 roundabout thing in my head, and I doubt I’d be disappointed with either to be honest. That Elise cup would be pretty handy on road and track for sure, but I’m starting to lean towards the S1 I think. Obviously, I’d need to go i...

Re: Thoughts on Exiges?

Interesting. Suppose I was thinking of looking at a low mileage S1 (~19k miles) - anything in particular I should be checking?

Re: Thoughts on Exiges?

Yeah, both fair comments. After owning a tweaked tubby Lego car for 7 years, I fancy something a bit different. Are the 240/260 cars much slower in a straight line? I kinda get what you mean about modifying an S1, not that I would alter much anyway. Never been in one, although I remember how raw a s...

Re: Thoughts on Exiges?

Thanks for the tips. Yeah I know, man-maths is confusing things here! I had sort of had a budget of up to £45k and I really like the looks of the V6 CRs, bu at that price, you’re almost in to Sport 350 money. I think I would definitely consider a low mileage S2 if it had the 240/260 upgrade in a nic...

Re: Thoughts on Exiges?

Cheers guys, I guess maybe I need to sit in a few and try it out. Can't make my mind up what I want though, keep changing my mind every day! The car in the classifieds does indeed look a cracker, unfortunately I have terrible taste in colour, and I'm after something a bit brighter! It's been ages si...

Thoughts on Exiges?

Hey guys, thinking of returning to a squeaky plastic car after 5 years of Porsche ownership. Thinking of an Exige - always hankered after an S1 but after seeing the prices recently, realised it’s probably out of my £45k price range! Recently drove a 350 and was blown away, but I think realistically ...

A82 Convoy!

Found myself in a mini-convoy from Milton to Loch Lomond; Cayman S, two S1's and a 340R, anybody on here?
I was trying not to gate-crash in the vx.… :D
