Re: SE Trackday

Speed Fair is what made me think of it. Would have to talk to John about insurance etc and cost it out to see where the break even point is. Looking at the photo's from the last KH it seems like we outnumber them now so like you say "balls of steel......." .

food for thought though.

SE Trackday

There must be enough members on here to make an SE trackday a viable option. Even if we do the reverse of SIDC day i.e. we organise it and invite them along. Suppose John is the man to ask about numbers etc. Just a thought..........

Wheel Repair

I have found out that one of my alloys has suffered at the hands of our potholed roads  . When on the tyre balancer it showed up as about a 5mm run off on the outside rim. Anybody had one repaired with this type of damage? if so where? or am I as well looking for another one. Rimstock 12 spoke...

Re: Toyo R888's

From my experience, when it's wet and cold ( as it tends to be in Aberdeenshire) they are "F%^king lethal". Came off a round about, not that quick, tried to accelerate and spun. No warning they just let go. In the dry you could stick the car to your garage wall. In the wet and cold, might as well ha...

Re: DIY Porting for an idiot

Buy the time you find a descent VCC head, send it for porting and get it back then probably more. £350-500 to port according to DVA web site, £110 for blanking plate add £150 ish for head. If you change to wasted stem valves that cancels out the cost of new valves for the QED head. Hyd followers are...

Re: find a reg plate's address

I remember that you can contact DVLA and get peoples detials. Don't know how you do it but it costs a couple of quid. Remember reading about this little known about service in connection with car cloning. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/01/17/dvla_data_giveaway/ Found this article about it. It's P...

Re: DIY Porting for an idiot

As a side note gents, just got the QED K series parts and price list through and they do a "High performance head casting c/w seats and guides" for £550 + vat. When you consider the price of a decent VVC head even off flea bay and the cost of porting coupled with the uncertainty if it's DIY or cost ...

Either join the room when they can or if they show up in my friends list, if they accept the invite, I will invite them in. It will be an open room so anyone can join.
