Fuel Economy for V6 Exige (and Evora NA and S, and Elise S)

One of the reasons I didn't like my Evora S was the shocking fuel economy. I was never sure if it was my car or if it was just what the engine did. Typically I got around 14mpg (without being daft) and even at a steady 70mph with the cruise on 20mph was almost impossible. I am now wondering about an...

Re: Evora Opportunity - Realistic Value?

Lots of things. There were about 10 faults from rotten gear change to no phone connection. Ultimately the gear change spoiled the car for me more than any other one thing. You had to wait a second or two above 6000rpm to go from snd to 3rd. Craig did a good job sorting the faults but tbh I was never...

Re: XC90 -thoughts

We have had a few, new, as family cars and they were the best car we have had for a big family. Tows with easy, and has taken taken the 5 of us to France several times with bikes etc. 30mpg on a run, 24 - 27 around town. The only problem we had was warped discs at 10k miles. However, recently I went...

Re: Evora Opportunity - Realistic Value?

Make sure you test drive it as long as you can.

I am on my 10th Lotus now and my Evora S was, by far, my least favourite :o

However, I realise this is the exception as opposed to the norm and its very much personal preference.

Saw it at Hethel with journo's testing it today. Looks and sounds awesome and that's from someone who isn't the biggest Evora fan!

Lowering the tyre pressures helped a lot. Not the worst road tyre I have ever had but certainly not A048s!

Re: SIDC Knockhill, Saturday 6th September 9 - 1

Great day (apart from above incident ;) )and a big thanks to John for again arranging a great, well organised and safe day, it really is appreciated! I was in the blue n/a light exige on sh*t road tyres (get my excuses out the way) but I can't believe the step change in speed of most cars. A few yea...

Re: 1Answer Insurance - Thumbs up

The Excess for KH was more than on other track days but still in the order of 10% for me (around 2k) which is in line with previous policies that I have had. Other Trackdays are 1.5k except Nurburgring which is 4k. That said I wouldn't do Nurburgring uninsured and thats good enough for me. Its horse...

1Answer Insurance

I tried all the usual suspects for a decent price this year and it seems to have jumped. I saw the recommendation on here for 1Answer Insurance and gave them a call. They were significantly cheaper than the others but the level of cover is what won me over. It included: 6 UK or European Trackdays (p...

It was me. It's an elise CR. I traded the Evora in for it and I am loving the rawness again.

Do you sometime take the mx5 to work?
