Damp boot....space!

Post by davec03 » Wed Apr 20, 2011 11:04 pm

Anyone had any problems with their boot being damp on an S2 Exige? Initially I put it down to condensation but I think the rubber boot seal is leaking. Anyone had a similar problem?

It will be soaking through the screws that hold the spoiler in place. I had it - TADTS

Open up the boot lid and have a look at the four holding screws - any signs of rust?

Replace all four and add a better rubber seal on the outside (where wing fixes to lid) and you'll be sorted.

If I remember when we had out S2 the boot seal wasn't great so if you parked it facing up a hill the water collected at the back end of the boot gutter and leaked into the boot but was OK facing down hill as the gutter drained into the engine bay if I remember rightly.
