Great stuff! Had an Elan Sprint 2-seater from new in '71 and there was never anything like it, until the Elise revived the proper Lotus concept.
Can Agra upgrade the engine to the big valve Sprint spec? - was amazingly quick back then.

Apparently it already has the big valve sprint engine, although I wont know for sure till the engine gets stripped!

Much respect, I know fully what you mean about running out of steam/time on a project although possibly not on the same scale as your efforts! Very nice.

Update since last time,
Body now stripped and sanded down ready to be painted the original Royal Blue colour. We have decided to take the body off the chassis, and send the chassis to get shot blasted and powder coated.
Engine now back from Agra Engineering, after total rebuild, to Big Valve Spec.
On the Dyno showing 135bhp at 6500 rpm!
Also a you tube video of the engine on the dyno (This was not my engine, but another similar spec one, done the day before)

More updates to come (No doubt in a few months - nothing in the restoration world happens quickly, except the bills arriving in the post!!!)

Looking good, are you tempted to get the chassis galvanised? I know this is popular with Eclats etc. Or is the chassis pretty resiliant in comparison?

Ferg, am taking advice on this, when we get the chassis off and cleaned up. The powder coating people say that that should be enough, and that it doesn't really need galvanised as well.

Looking great! AFAIK if the powder coat gets chipped and moisture gets in then the powder coat can bubble off and leave your chassis open to the elements.. I could be totally wrong just repeating what I was told when I was going to powder coat my wheels rather than have them painted

How EXCITED was that cameraman
What a great project Paul, I'm sure you are enjoying seeing the pieces all coming together gradually.
Now if you'd just kept that 340, you'd have 3 Lotus Classics in the garage - in fact, 4 including you

UPDATE!
Shell is now completely stripped, and ready to go back to the body shop to get painted in original Lotus Royal Blue
Chassis all stripped checked, couple of minor welds, and now powder coated
Welding lovingly done by "Amber" !
Chassis build up now happening with new suspension, brakes etc, and all bits powder coated
Engine ready to go in next
Interior ready to go to a trimmer to get redone in black leather.
Target is to have the body back all painted up, and the rolling chassis fitted by Christmas, then work will begin on the rewiring and interior etc.
Have managed to source period Minilite Wheels for it as well, so just waiting for them to appear.
Next installment shortly I hope!
