Re: tar spots
Kind of: it'll only remove tar and glue residue. Clay will remove bonded contaminants (including tar).vxc wrote:so can this be used in replacement of clay bar?
We tend to avoid removing tar with a clay bar as there's quite a high risk of marring the paint as the tar residue is moved over the paint surface and it also wrecks your clay bar quickly.
Our guide to decontamination/claying is here: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... paint.html

Re: tar spots
Bought some tardis form PB today.
Thought I'd try it out on one panel as my RS is quite heavily stained with tar.
Spray on, watched the tar run and wiped off. Ended up doing the whole car in around 40mins
Best car cleaning product I've ever bought.

Didn't have you down as a cleaner Gareth!
Re: tar spots
Is amazing stuff as you watch the tar running off paintwork. Remove my gloss paint fine spots off both cars without any rubbing. Was a bit worried at first when i used tardis then a clay bar and didn't wipe off the tardis enough as the clay bar just smudges into a sticky goo but does come off easily.
Is the kind of stuff you are dying to try everywhere else. Last week at work someone (not me honest) did the classic permanent marker on the wipeboard. Going to try the tardis on it as we only managed to partially remove the diagrams.

Re: tar spots
It's a bit daunting as it smells of white spirit....so you half expect to bubble the paint.
I did my car, hosed down and rewashed for peace of mind. I can't believe how easy it was.
It just makes the whole car cleaning before polishing a nicer/faster experience. I never liked claying. Far too time consuming.

Re: tar spots
We have sold gallons of Tardis recently, probably due to the terrible state of the roads and the poor 'repairs'.
Compared to some 'high street' tar removers, Tardis just blows them away.
We've not tried a tar remover which is so effective and, as noted, quick and easy to use.
So long as you don't let it dry and rinse it thoroughly it should pose no problems. (Avoid fresh paint and touched up areas too)
