Managed a detail on Friday....

....haven't had a chance since I've had it with work being so busy (and just driving it!).
Paintwork is already in good condition - just a couple of light scratches that I wanted to sort, full clean and on with the Best of Show!
Car after wash, clay, rinse and dry...
A couple of pics of the problem areas on the back..just a light scratch but noticeable in the sun...
So it was out with the Menzerna FF and Sonus 3' spot polishing pad on the PorterCable
Only took one pass and once the polish had broken down and wiped off, it looked as good as new. Next was some Cleaner Fluid to prep the surface for the wax. Applied with a 6" pad on the bigger areas and by hand around the tricky bits.
Camera battery went in the middle of this so once the CF was applied and removed, it was on with some Swissvax Best of Show by hand (no applicator - yep the neighbours think I'm nuts)....
All in all, pretty pleased, had to quickly get the car back in out the rain so only got a few more shots...
Awaiting my SE flaming

Now would we do something like that.............?
It looks great, and nothing to be ashamed of in having your car looking like new now and again.
Providing of course that you use it and enjoy it as it was intended for.
However if it looks that good, why are you not in the Database as attending the KH classic Speedfair with us on June 8th?

Funny you mention it mate. Never been on track before so was hoping someone would be able to help me! what to do, what event, how to book, advice etc. Was thinking a decent polish / wax might be a fair trade

Looks superb Paul......that's the shiniest I've ever seen that car looking............Scott might want to buy it back off you when he sees it !
Have you been adding some raised L O T U S lettering along the back ??
What is the green thing in front of the car ? It looks like an inflatable garage

Looking good. Is it titanium storm? Can't quite work it out, it's so shiny

.

P.S.
I did notice that your pics are a little "noisy" (grainy). Just wondered if you realised your ISO setting is 800?

Hi Neil, yep the letters went on a few weeks ago. The green thing is like an inflatable garage (without the air). It's where it lives to keep it out the weather!
Hope all is well,
Paul

Hi Paul, I put the raised letters on my car as well. A minor detail but I think it looks so much better with them and they only cost about £14.
Not so convinced with your inflatable garage though....don't tell me it's de-humidified ?

I too have ordered the raised letters as I have a crease in one of the decal ones.. oh, and a new petrol cap too since it fell apart.. anyway, getting off topic now.
Looking cool

If this is the Paulo that i used to work with I can't believe it's your Mon - Thu job that's keeping you busy. Also "busy" people tend not to be able to devote an entire Friday to cleaning their car
If it's trackdays you are after you could do a lot worse than heading down to the Kaimes day a week on Saturday - even if you just come down for a look

Go on - you know you want to

It's me indeed lazydonkey! Work outside of work has been keeping me busy (if you know what I mean). Hardly do a turn Mon-Thurs, as you know!
Word on the street is that you're a closet polisher these days

care to confirm??
Might come along to Kaimes (just to watch) so hopefully see you there!
