Calling the detailers...

Post by Dominic » Sun Aug 31, 2008 12:15 pm

Can someone offer some advise as to how to remove some sort of silicon cleaner from a car dash board.

My neighbour's Golf GTi was in Verve, and the valetors cleaned the dash. It now looks like it has oil seaping out from all the gaps and joins in the dash board.

Maybe some All Purpose Cleaner to remove the stuff the garage put on then Natural Look dressing to finish off? Both available here: http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog ... erior.html

The APC should get rid of most stuff, but check it's okay on plastics first. The Natural Look leaves more of a matt finish than most interior cleaners. I don't use it on the dash but do use it on the sills for scuffs and dirt and it's really good.

I'll second the APC idea. But don't bother with the stuff from polished bliss, just get some from Tescos- I think they call it Daisy!

Dilute it- try 10:1 and get stronger if needed. Could take a few passes to get rid of it. Never had to do it myself but the word on the street is that it should remove silcon from a dash.
