Changed the wheels on the 340 before going out yesterday and had the TehcnoMags in the lounge. House rules, if it is in the house it is clean.

Got them outside gave the ma a good wash with the wheel brush and then used tooth brush and the wheel brush with some Wonder Wheels.

Inside of the rims are now spotless apart from the old weights glue.

How good are these alloy waxes ? Living wiht iron brakes now as opposed to the MMCs the wheels are a constant PITA to keep clean when you live in a flat and do not have a pressure washer.

IIRC the Poor Boys stuff was the rim wax of choice ?

ps why not fit MMC's Sanjoy? N1 has them all round with 220hp and N3 on the rear.

I think Wonder Wheels is a little harsh on the rims and can make a mess of them after a lot of use if you have any scratchs etc.

I bought some stuff called Billberry and it worked a treat on the 160s wheels. I got some PB wheel sealant and although ive not done many miles in the car since they were cleaned the dirt seems to come off a lot easier now.

It also smells nice


Oh and i think i read somewhere that tar remover is the stuff to take off the wheel weight sticky tape but im more than happy to be corrected on any of the above

...I'm not taking the back end.... Especially if it needs cleaning

EDIT: Just realised you where talking of wheel waxes. Heard poorboys was good. I never have usedc these products. I use meguiars Wax and used to just put a coat of the wax on my wheels of the peugeot when waxing the car and seemed to work a treat as I only used water to take the dirt of the wheels to reduce the risk of corrosion on the diamond cut wheels.

your right on the button! wonder wheels is really harsh and continuous use will cause discolouration.
i too use bilberry and it is great stuff.

again i use PB wheel sealant and it works really. two coats and the wheels are easy to clean, soap will clean them.

Sanjoy, get yourself some wheel bags. Big D and Rog had them on holiday. these would be ideal as you won't have to clean the wheels anymore. Sorted

The poorboys wheel wax is good, as is the chemical guys wheel barrier - Both do the same job

Surely that would be for when the wheels are off as opposed to on ? Trying to minimise the cleaning required!
