Best place for wheel refurbs in Dundee

Post by StiflerMR2 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 1:26 pm

Hey guys,

Whats the thinking on the best place to get wheels refurbed in the Dundee area?

I was wanting to get some paintwork taken care of as well so wondered if Charlie at Tayside Autos also does refurbs?

Thanks for any replies :)

Coatech in Carnoustie, they did a mates wheels and I was quite impressed with the results. Haven't used them myself therefore can't vouch for them:

Problem with them is that they really are hit and miss as to whether you get a good job.
I have had too many misses over the years to go back.

Hmm, I haven't refurbed wheels in a long time, is £270 really the going rate these days?!?

Where was that at?

My recollection was that somewhere around £50 / wheel was about the gking rate when I was last looking. Infact when I had the Mini wheels changed to white I used a place off the myrkirk roundabout called something like Dent8 (?) at £50 per wheel

That was following the coatech link, four wheels, same day.

I'll scan the web tonight and see what comes up :)

My 17" van alloys are in just now for £35 per wheel so £50 does sound a little expnsive to me. Not a 1 day service however.

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).
