Also get the geometry checked out - you'll probably have knocked something out...

Dont worry I'm in the same boat my wheels are ok but my rack end (I think) is bent and my clam is broken.

So where can you get your geo done doon ma way ? bear in mind once I have rebuilt the front suspension there is no saying how much it will be out.

I had the full geo / alignment done on my S2 in May at Kenny Browns in Hillington. Not cheap at £120 for the full 4 wheel effort, but the difference (as dominic will agree) was night and day. I think they would do front only if you wanted.

I also had the wheels done at a place in south street called re:coat which was good quality and cheap.

I am guessing the £120 alignment includes all the spanner work ?
and not just them telling you how much it is out. £120 doesn't seem that bad. but if anyone knows cheaper.

As for my crash, I'm not to fussed about the car it can be fixed more annoyed with myself for maybe pushing harder than my ability allows

If you're in Airdrie.... you may want to pop into Wheel Services... they're just on the road to Plains...

Clicky here for the website

They just do wheels though... you'll still need somewhere else for the geo...

Cheers,

Dave.

cheers,
think i'll maybe need the 4 done
its the 2 passenger side ones that are needin done.
well both sides took a hit. fishtailing down a narrow lane with big trees on either side so i think gettin 4 done might be worthwhile

I gave them the car, having driven it only the 10 miles there - it was pulling all over the road, felt like had a mind of its own. I picked it up, it felt like a new car, went round corners and didnt wander about.

Its basically the labour charge for how long it takes, mine took 4 hours.

The guy said it was so far out at the front he couldnt measure what it was at to get "before" measurements.

went out to wheel services, the woman out there was really good but thought i'd ask folks opinions on here as i dont know anybody who has used them before.
they quoted £220 to refurb the 2 damaged ones to standard spec and £440 to mirror polish all 4.
was considerin the mirror polish to get a different look
never had any work like this done before. iare they reasonable quotes?

I paid £100 to refurb all 4 of my s2 wheels, so £220 to do 2 seems a little steep.

That was without tyres, I guess you will need to have tyres removed and refitted - even so thats never more than £10 / wheel in my experience. I paid £150 from memory from another place a couple of years back.

Details in the offers sections.
