Could an insurance company void a claim on that?

Edit: and on topic Admiral = fcuking gash on mods IMO, wanted 400 extra for the tints on my CTR.
Stage 2 is a dealer fit upgrade. It's not standard to the car as homologated and has to be declared. Technically, it's also a performance mod (so you can't claim it's just a stainless repacement).

Dealer should declare at time of sale that it's a non-standard upgrade exahust. Not sure what his legal obligations are though

Yes - they could technically void on it. I belive as Simon does with this case though, in that they would probably not do so (especially if you told them that you were not aware it was an upgrade) and simply require you to pay the difference in cover....

Nope. I work for insurance companies, and I've seen them do it for far lesser things... prime example being someone having had 2 cars, insuring one as a second car... thereafter selling 1st and not informing them. Invalid; no indemnity, no pay out.

Just as well my claim went through ok then

Though I didnt expect any problems as Adrian Flux dont charge any extra for the first two mods provided they are standard induction/exhaust mods. Superchargers and engine conversions etc obviously are charged for.

It was always my intention to declare it next time I renew the policy anyway, just curious.

I seem to recall from the dim and distant past - studying law - being told insurance contracts were "contracts of the utmost good faith" and if you don't declare everthing they'll happily invalidate your policy!

Just got around to giving Admiral a call. As said above, they will not pay for mods, but in the result of an accident, would pay for OEM replacement.

So to add a Larini exhaust and a hurricane induction kit would be a whopping!!!

£31.71  and even better, no admin fee on top

I am a lazy bas. Might try to create a list of fax numbers and send a bulk fax to them all with a std letter from me stating all mods to the car etc and get them to quote. Just realised I am with Tesco because I cannot be fecked moving. No excuse.

Reckon it will work ?
