Churchill - oh yes

Been with them a year or two now. Both cars. Wee multi car discount.

But most importantly ...

£224 last year
£219 offered this year

Quick CompareTheMeerkat to be certain - Churchill offering me £165 and lower excess

Called them and 2 mins & 4 questions later they’d price matched.

This is for our S3 Club Racer S with 5k mileage allowance and full business cover.

Campbell,

Any track days included with your insurance cover?

We have managed to get partial refunds on all our car policies by phoning them to reduce the annual mileage driven. Not a lot on the last year but reduction in next years due to ongoing working from home has reduced the renewal substantially £75 being the best saving- from Churchill

Checked out Meerkat / Churchill myself after seeing Campbell’s original post.

Quote from Churchill for £162 - half of the cost, on same terms, as my (now previous!) provider. Quote me happy indeed :)

Thanks for the pointer Campbell :thumbsup

I couldn’t find any insurer that would offer business cover and track day cover on the same policy. These requirements seem to be mutually exclusive.

Henderson Taylor managed it for my Evora. But it was a squeak I think.

Hey all,

Just trying to arrange insurance on a car and due to the value REIS, Henderson Taylor et al. wont insure as I will just have it on my driveway, rather than a garage.

Churchill seem the cheapest but thought I'd ask if there were any other insurers with TD cover who might cover me or whether it'll just be a case of sorting out day cover for track stuff.

TIA :)

Anyone noticed an increase in minimum excess recently?

I always set my voluntary excess to £0 and take the standard excess which is normally £150-£250.

Insured my 335d last week and noticed that compulsory excess with some companies was £700! Couldn't find anybody who would insure me with a compulsory excess of less than £350.

One company had an asterisk next to the quote which explained that due to my car being high performance and/or high value a 'high risk' excess applied, hence why it was £700.
It's a diesel estate (albeit one with 300bhp) and I'm 40 with 10yrs+ NCB so don't see it as particularly high risk.

Is this becoming commonplace with higher performance cars?

Currently with Footman James agreed valuation on a 2003 K series. Up for renewal. Currently £16k, we buy any car says £6000 ffs!

Churchill is half the price.

Campbell, when your S1 was a write off were you on market value or agreed valuation and did they pay out fairly.
