Yeah Adrian Flux were the cheapest last time around. I phoned yesterday to see why it had shot up.
Me: Can you tell me why my policy is £600 dearer than last year?
AF: Yes, its because you had a claim last year.
Me: I know that but I have 8 years protected NCB.
AF: Yes but the insurance company had to pay out a lot of money.
Me: So PNCB is a big rip off, is that what your telling me?
AF: Erm...
One of the companies I phoned asked me what my current insurer quoted, even he laughed. Think they were one of the cheaper ones.

Finally.
Went with A-plan (Ed, you win the half pint o shandy) in the end £700 inc use for work and unlimited miles. Unfortunately no track day cover, a couple of good quotes but too many cons so went with this one.
So will need to find cheap one off track day cover or I will be taking it very easy on my first trip to Cadwell Park.

Been thinking about what you said about the accident and the increased premium.
As far as I know your NCB gives a percentage discount on the premium. Since you've had a declared accident your risk to the insurer increases and therefore your premium. You still get the same percentage discount (protected NCB) but it's a percentage discount on a high premium.
So - if you didn't have a protected NCB you would pay more as your risk has increased and again as you've lost the percentage discount that your NCB gave you.

I appreciate this is all 2nd hand Gossip but.. when I had the Westfield Adrian Flux were always there or there-about as far as Insurance quotes go. Obviously Insurance Quote questions were fairly frequent on the Westfield Forum and, bearing in mind that there were over 1000 Westie owners registered you would struggle to get anyone to say a good word about them. Most advice contained the phrase "wouldnt touch with a bargepole"and related to what happened in the even of a claim as opposed to the quotes.shooomer wrote:I'm having to insure Elise and 911 myself now and Adrian Flux are cheapest for Elise at £465. Anyone actually made a claim with them? Good/bad experiences?
