Elephant renewal

Got my renewal quote from Elephant last week, quoting £890 full comp for S2 Exige.
Phoned and asked why it was up over £200 over last years quote after nothing had changed, they could not move.
Went back to the 'tinternet' put in for new quote and then came back £640.
Confirmed it, got it and all happy.

Just seems to be the 'normal' up the quote since they're already with us and they might stay attitude.

I had exactly the same with Admiral (same company as Elephant) this year. I guess they dont want any Loti! Went through A-Plan, saved a few quid and got free trackday cover

Same thing has happened to me every year since i started insuring cars. Have always been with elephant, as they're the cheapest by far, but you do have to work at them for it

Ive been with elephant since I got my first car and that happens every year. I usually just get a new quote online and phone them to cancel the renewal quote and accept the new one instead. Its a bit of a joke that they cant give the same price to their existing customers as they do to there new ones really, if it wasnt for the fact they have always been way cheaper than anyone else I wouldnt put up with the hassle.

I was about to cancel my renewal until I read this thread. Elephant quoted me £878 fully comp for my S2 111S. I applied on-line as a new customer this dropped to £603 with a lower excess than last year! Thanks for the info! :D

thats unfortunately the risk you take with elephant.
was talking about this last night to a mate - Elephant are really cheap but i wouldnt want to find out how good there were when putting a claim in.
do they still offshore their call centre to India? i spoke to them earlier this week to change my car insurance over onto my new car and i spoke with 2 english girls.

I've been with Admiral for a good few years now, my initial quote for the Exige was about £250 more than the deal they ended up giving me for the Exige and the Puma last year :?

Here's a tip when dealing with Elephant. Always call them on a weekday. Mon - Fri their phones are answered in the UK. Calls are switched over and outsourced to India at the weekend.
